Forsthaus Gut Traunfried

The house is located at the end of a private gravel road in a forest with no neighbors in sight, yet it takes only a few minutes to get there from the highway A9. The Stausee Klaus is in walking distance and there are many hiking trails around. The house is comprised of two double bedrooms, one single bedroom and a triple bedroom which have plenty of space for 8 adults in total. The house also features two bathrooms with toilets and showers, a living room and a perfectly equipped kitchen with a dining area. The garden has two separate seating areas - one with a large table and a BBQ - and another one in an open shed that allows you to sit outside even when it's raining. The cherry on top was the large sauna with beautiful views of the forrest. The owner was very pleasant, forthcoming and welcomed us with a basket of snacks.

During heavy traffic one can hear some road noise from the highway but we did not find it disturbing at all.

Sehr gefallen hat uns die Vollständigkeit und der gute Zustand der Ausrüstung der Küche. Häufig fehlte etwas in Selbstversorger-Unterkünften oder die Messer waren weniger als stumpf. Eine Sauna für private Verwendung ist ein zusätzlicher Pluspunkt.

Eigentlich nichts, was nicht gefallen hat. Aber als Tipp: Besser anreisen, bevor es dunkel wird! In dieser Ecke des Tals funktioniert tatsächlich das GPS-Signal nicht und ich interpretierte die eigentlich sehr gute Anfahrtsanleitung falsch, weshalb ich zuerst den falschen Forstweg hinauf fuhr.

Die Lage ist sehr schön und ruhig.

Das Haus ist leider von Schimmel befallen und hat dementsprechend einen unangenehmen Geruch abgegeben.

Traumhafte Lage und viele schöne Plätzchen zum Entspannen. Der Gastgeber ist überaus freundlich und entgegenkommend.
