Lovely stay
We stayed for a late Christmas celebration for 2 nights. We really enjoyed our stay overall and the host, Nik, was great. Here are the positives: The house was magnificent and the area lovely. The beds were really comfortable. Despite being a big house it was really toasty and warm, with a log burner too. Really good kitchen with two ovens. Nik the host communicated well. I enjoyed a walk around the local Olton Reservoir, too.
Could be better: • Lack of toilet paper, spare should be available if required on request. • Lack of towels and tea towels! If the sofa bed is classed as a bed, there should be towels for that person somewhere. There was one towel for each person in the bedrooms but a small towel that is wet once used (obviously), and we stayed a few nights, so people ended up showering less or not bothering. There was a lot of washing up to do and one tea towel was totally inadequate. We requested additional of both but didn't receive any during our stay. • Enjoyed the log burner but only for the first evening as there was hardly any wood in the basket. • The garden was a bit untidy; There was a razor found on the floor outside and we had a dog with us during our stay. I only mention the above as constructive criticism really, leaving room for improvement for future guests, as overall it was a lovely stay.
