Kai is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve visited. The pool is great and the room and especially bathroom is fantastic!!
The location is not amazing though, there is only resorts around and one other restaurant close by. The closest beach was completely empty, which was beautiful but very affected my the tides. Would recommend staying a few nights here and a few nights somewhere else to get more out of the beach.
The staff was friendly but we had a lot of misunderstanding with the language, something I did not experience at other hotels in Zanzibar.

I was really looking forward to our stay at Kai, it appeared to be a beautiful new hotel. However, we experienced too many issues.
The constant power cuts, at times for hours was very frustrating. There was also issues with cleanliness and the hotel was not as described online. The staff are also not well trained and many don’t speak good English, making communication difficult. Also had WiFi issues. The hotel also felt tight and very small.
To make things worse when trying to address the issues hotel staff lied.
I would not recommend staying here. There was other places in Zanzibar, offering amazing service and facilities.
