Only stayed 1 night on 11th Oct for travelling Nihonmatsu next day. I booked here because it's the cheapest during this day with free parking.
Just stayed in another Onsen hotel a week ago. Compared to this, it was a dramatic drop. Checking in late like 7pm. After filling in a form, a lady carried us to the room directly.
Without introducing any facilities including the onsen, restaurant and room amenities, we basically explored the entire hotel by ourselves. We even didn't get to wear slippers, but other guests were wearing it. We only found out where is the slippers until checking out.
For the cleanliness, it looked fine from the surface, but if you were the person paid attention to details, please manage your expectation.
For the onsen, it was not hot enough to me, but my skin gets wrinkly in water fast which I don't think it happened in other onsens. I didn't know there was an outdoor onsen until my boyfriend told me.
For the room, the whole style was a bit inharmonious and obsolete. A Japanese style room with a gold painted decorative tissue box, and the tea cups were stored in a Chinese-candy-box like container. There was no kettle in the room, but 2 packs of instant coffee were given.
I was trying to connect the hotel WIFI. I couldn't find any details by looking up everywhere in the room and the massive front lobby, either I can find any staff to ask though it stated 24/7 reception.
On the website, they said English is available, but what they could speak actually is very limited. Couldn't even understand when I asked for a "bar" which is also listed on the profile but it didn't exist in the hotel. I suggest to remove English from the available languages in this case.
The plus side in this place is the amenities in common area including microwaves, massage chair and indoor bike; the food in restaurant were ok and the convenient location (since it's close to Nihonmatsu).
Overall, it was fine for me as a sleepover or a short stay. But if you are looking for a decent place, I suggest to look for somewhere else.
