Rustic villa with breathtaking views

The house is in the most idyllic setting with beautiful mountain views from every window and the garden. The owner was extremely welcoming and accommodating and sent us lots of tips—he even arranged for a neighbor to bring us a bottle opener when we discovered that a previous guest had taken the one from the house. We didn’t know anything about Orpatlj but it turned out to be the perfect base to explore the region. Parking was no problem and we loved the short walk to the house through the quiet historic village. We went to the restaurant in town twice during our stay and also loved exploring the region. We were there with our young children and really enjoyed zip lining across the gorge in nearby Payzan, where we also found a swimming hole with cliff jumping. We also enjoyed a private truffle hunt organized by the store in livande.

Location molto bella. All’interno di un paesino in cui il tempo sembra essersi fermato. Abbiamo pranzato all’aperto con una magnifica vista.

Il parcheggio è un po’ scomodo perché non si può arrivare con l’auto e bisogna parcheggiare in uno dei parcheggi in paese, ma si tratta di pochi metri. La strada per arrivare è un po’ stretta.

Our stay was truly wonderful. Oprtalj is such a charming little town, and its residents are incredibly warm and welcoming. The location was perfect for visiting Istralandia and enjoying a wine tasting at Kozlović Winery. The terrace was simply magical—actually even more beautiful than in the photos. Our host was exceptionally kind and attentive. We affectionately nicknamed him “Promil” because he always had the best recommendations for nearby wineries! Communication was excellent throughout our stay, making us feel completely at home. We wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting Istria. You are bound to fall in love with it, just as we did.

Amazing view!!! Good Communication with the owner. Parking areas around the corner. Cycling paradise. Peaceful village. Cooking Equipment is basic but ok.

The bed (for us) was quite hard.
