Welcome to our cabin in the woods in the Galena Territory. This expanded Miner's Cottage is one of the most popular home styles in the area. This is not a city home or a suburban home. Instead, it is a vacation home designed for guests looking for a more rustic space that also offers an open-concept floor plan with 5 bedrooms and 5.5 baths.

There is a paved and lighted driveway with a parking area just big enough for six cars and a set of lighted concrete steps from the parking area to the home. There are 10 steps down from the driveway to the house. Still, the entire stairway spans over 50 feet, so this home may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues or a desire to have a short walk from the car to the front door of the house.

Our home has plenty of room inside and outside to relax, socialize and play. There are two separate living areas – one upstairs and another downstairs - and two spacious decks for playing, sitting, eating out, grilling, and using the hot tub. There is also a large screened porch with a table and chairs.

The high vaulted ceilings in the foyer and great room welcome you with a bright and airy space. Enjoy the view from the great room's wraparound windows. The effect is magical when you use the wood-burning fireplace between the windows. There is also a half bath nearby. There is a television and DVD player in the great room. Of course, you are welcome to use our firewood.

Our kitchen and dining area are big enough to prepare and serve a meal to a crowd. The dining table seats 10 guests, and there are two extra chairs.

Each of our 5 bedrooms has its own full bath and an exterior door to access the outside decks or patios. The generous master bedroom, which is on the main level and has a large private balcony, has a king bed. The master bath features a whirlpool tub. The other 4 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, are in two separate wings on the lower level, with a family room in between. The family room has a comfortable sectional couch, large-screen television, a wet bar with a refrigerator, and a foosball table. There is not a sofa sleeper at this home.

Two doors from the family room lead directly to the expansive lower deck and hot tub. The built-in entertainment center in the great room has books and games for more entertainment.

Other features in our home include a large outdoor grill with propane, dedicated wireless internet, and a work desk built into the kitchen.

Your rental includes free access to the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fitness center, gymnasium, game room, business center, and tennis courts at the Galena Territory Owners' Club. The Territory also offers a hiking trail system and Lake Galena, where you can rent a pontoon boat, fishing boat, or kayak. No swimming is allowed at the lake, but the fishing is spectacular.

Our home is also close to horseback riding and trail rides at the Shenandoah Riding Center, zip lines, wineries, golf courses, and restaurants. However, there is an extra cost for these activities.
