Longhorn Lodge is located right in the heart of central Austin, just a short walk to "The Drag", University of Texas, Hyde Park, West Campus and Peace Park and a mile from the northern edge of downtown Austin. Lots to walk to and LESS THAN A 1/2 BLOCK to the local and lovely Wheatsville Co-op grocery store, legendary Black's BBQ, delicious Via 313 Pizza and bar, Hopfields, a french inspired gastropub and The Cheba Hut, a sub shop with a full bar and grill - all with great indoor and outdoor seating options.
Please note, while the Longhorn Lodge has lots to offer, it is an old home - doors and floors can creak, windows can shake and, at times, the bustling outside city can be heard indoors. Weekdays are relatively quiet but weekends can be lively into the night.
This is NOT a party house. The home is in a wonderful neighborhood. Our neighbors are longtime home owners, families, professors and students. We respect their privacy and, therefore, can not allow any parties or events of any kind. No bachelor or bachelorette parties or groups allowed. We also have a strict noise policy - no loud noise or outside noise or gatherings after 10:00 weeknights, 11:00 weekends.
If any of these issues concern you, please do not book. Otherwise, we welcome all respectful and well behaved guests and their families. Great news- all guests now have access to the front entrance and front porch.
