Cosy Studio Retreat

It was all that I needed for a one night stay. A tiny house with everything you needed. I never met the hosts. It was all done by email. Very private and quiet. Close to shops. Up a right of way with concrete hard standing for a car park - well off the street so very safe.

This was my 2nd time staying. The unit is located behind the main house up a long (steepish) driveway. There is a separate path that leads to the unit with security lights. The unit is very comfortable and cosy and very quiet. It has a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle plus tea coffee etc just need to bring your own milk. A great shower with shampoo and soap provided. I didn’t have a car but It is easy to get to by bus and a short walk from/to the bus stop, otherwise an Uber ride doesn’t cost a lot in to Porirua. There is a well stocked local store a short walk away or a Fresh choice a bit further down the hill. An added bonus are the lovely views of the surrounding hills.

Everything was great. The only thing I would want is a couple of coffee mugs as the tea cups are a bit small for a cuppa in the morning :)

Perfect for 2 people and short visit, needing a place to rest overnight, basic kitchen needs, and washing facilities. Clean, excellent water pressure, hot water, heat pump is high standard, quiet, lots of power points, medium fridge, sufficient windows allows for lots of natural light and sun. Provided tea/coffee, just BYO milk. Excellent lighting inside/out. TV seemed to work by casting only, worked it out eventually, not perfect but good enough.

No privacy during the day, but not a real problem if you're out and about. Recommend cleaning the lint filter on washing machine - suspect linen and manchester are either being washed together, or with the bath mat, exposing all to fluff. Needs 2 mugs, teacups not sufficient for a satisfactory warming cuppa on a cold morning/night,
