G&G House

Large, clean apartment with a bedroom downstairs and upstairs via a winding staircase. Well equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave,fridge-freezer & plenty of cupboard space. There are no chefs knives or a cutting board, luckily we took our own as we mainly cooked for ourselves (there is a Conad supermarket within walking distance). There is a coffee maker but no kettle, however a quick call to the owner soon rectified this.Property is close to Torre Annunziata Oplonti station, it is a five-minute walk and there are buses on the main street outside the apartment. Also close to the Oplonti Villas, we recommend a visit to see the Roman ruins which were interesting and not too busy. There is an area to sit outside and a washing machine out there as well as somewhere to hang the washing, however the space outside is not fenced off from the neighbours who wander through frequently. The living room has a settee, table & chairs with air conditioning that also serves as heating if you need it(also available in both bedrooms). The flooring is tiled throughout the property so feels cold underfoot, I would advise taking slippers to walk around in. The bathroom has a shower with shower gel & shampoo provided, there is plenty of hot water. Didn't use the televisions so can't comment if there are foreign TV stations. Wi-fi was excellent. Property owner does not speak much English but we got by with Google translate, he was friendly and informative.

The downside of being near the station was the noise of the trains, the line is literally the other side of the back wall and the trains make things in the apartment rattle. The first train is at 04.30am and they run until 23.00pm. This, of course is out of the control of the apartment owner but just be aware if you are sensitive to noise. A welcome pack would be a bonus, there was only coffee and tea but no milk and nothing to eat. Bear this in mind if your arrival time is later in the evening after the shops have closed.
