The Nest

The location. The apartment is on the side of a high hill overlooking the bay. You have a beautiful view of the whole resort and the sea (and Corsica !) from the terrace. The apartment is well isolated and doesn't get too hot even during very warm days. If you leave the AC on while you're at the beach, the apartment will be fresh for the whole evening and the night when you get back, so you can turn it off and enjoy a fresh apartment without the AC noise and the cold air blowing directly on you. The apartment is comfortable and well furnished, and it was very clean. Our contact at AIS Blue, Mariaclara, has been very helpful and thoughtful. Generally speaking, the agency has been very professional and trustworthy in our dealings.

Not something that we didn't like but something to keep in mind: to get to the apartment, you need to take some rather narrow stairs. So it could prove difficult for people with reduced mobility. Another thing to keep in mind is that most people will want to use their car to get to one of the resort's beaches. Going by foot is doable if you're in good physical shape (the way back up from the beach to the apartment is quite steep, especially in the summer heat) If those two points aren't a problem for you, then I can warmly recommend The Nest to you.

Tenete conto che ci sono diverse scale da scendere per accedere all'appartamento dal parcheggio. Di per se non è un problema, ma di sera con buio può diventarlo visto che le scale non sono illuminate.

Die Apartments liegen in einer ruhigen Siedlung, die aus einzelnen Häusern besteht und hauptsächlich für Erholungszwecke gebaut wurde. Der Ort ist landschaftlich wunderschön, mit Blick auf Berge und Felsküste. Es gibt einige Restaurants, Cafés und Bars – die Auswahl ist nicht riesig, aber ausreichend, um abends etwas essen oder trinken zu gehen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet und hatte eine tolle Terrasse mit herrlichem Meerblick. Besonders positiv war die Küche – alles Nötige war vorhanden, einschließlich Gewürze, Kaffee und Öl. Ein Parkplatz befindet sich direkt oben an der Anlage, was die Anreise mit dem Auto sehr angenehm macht. Zum Strand fährt man am besten mit dem Auto und läuft dann noch etwa 10–15 Minuten durch die Felsen. Der Weg ist zwar etwas länger, bietet aber tolle Ausblicke.

Die Siedlung selbst ist kein belebtes Dorf, es gibt also nicht allzu viel Leben oder Abwechslung. Ohne Auto ist man hier deutlich eingeschränkt, da man außerhalb der Anlage kaum etwas zu Fuß erreicht. Um zur Wohnung vom Parkplatz zu gelangen, muss man viele Treppen hinuntergehen – für Personen mit eingeschränkter Mobilität könnte das schwierig sein. Etwas aufwendig war auch die Schlüsselübergabe: Vorab mussten wir die Ausweise per E-Mail schicken, vor Ort zu einer bestimmten vorab vereinbarten Zeit erscheinen, den Mietvertrag auf Italienisch unterschreiben und eine recht hohe Kaution per Kreditkarte hinterlegen. Am Ende lief aber alles problemlos, die Kaution wurde wie versprochen wieder freigegeben – dennoch wirkt der Ablauf im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften etwas umständlich und weckt zunächst Misstrauen.
