Jia嘉 Homestay - Kuching Riverine Diamond Resort

This is a homestay that offers a lot: A really well-equipped, large apartment; there is everything you might need for your stay: a kitchen that allows you to prepare whole meals, a large fridge and freezer, a washing machine and literally every other creature comfort you can think of. The large, beautiful swimming pool is a real asset. It is very quiet and feels utterly safe. There is a reserved parking space in the garage. The town center is still within walking distance, or (easier) a fast, inexpensive Grab ride away. Grab was also perfect for getting food when we did not feel like going out. The host is super friendly and responsive; self-checkin and checkout is a breeze.

Just some minor niggles: the AC is pointed directly at the bed (no way to adjust that in a way that will keep you out of that wind). On the other hand, very little of the cool moves into the living space. We as Westerners did not care much for the synthetic duvet and blankets. Would have been nice to have some cotton covers, like there were for the pillows. Finally, in our ten night stay no cleaning at all was offered. We managed to keep the place reasonably clean, but at least one thorough clean-up would have been nice - especially considering that even only having to do one after five nights is probably less than how long the average guest stays. I have to stress, though, that our host explained that in Borneo guests prefer an undisturbed stay, so this wish might, once again, be typically Western.

We enjoyed our stay at Jia Homestay very much. The apartment was clean and very quiet. All of the listed amenities were available and the snacks included were very much appreciated.

We liked everything.
