Apt 4 Great Mountain Views In Nadi , My Ecolodge

Beautiful, peaceful location (views are accurate in pics on booking.com) in slightly rural Fiji (but still only a FJ$15 metered taxi ride from central Nadi). We were in Fiji for a family wedding in Denerau and I'm so glad that we didn't stay at the resorts! Our hosts and their 2 staff were welcoming, friendly and relaxed and if we wanted anything it was pretty easy to find someone to drive us into town or to Denerau. Sita made us a lovely Kokonda one night (which was better than the 3 other kokonda we sampled elsewhere) and Ameni took us to the mud pools and waited while we partook (thoroughly recommend this), stopping at a local fruit/veggie market on the way home and later met us at his local bar to share some kava. We had considered hiring a car for our 8 day stay but I'm glad we didn't as after our initial wondering where we were (it is a little tricky to find but getting a pick-up from the airport helped with that) it was relatively easy to get back from any outings armed with Google maps and getting the taxi to switch on their meter! I think overall it probably ended up cheaper than car hire and way less stress. Would also recommend if you are arriving late to either bring some food or have your driver stop at a supermarket on the way from the airport so that you can cook up something to eat (no oven just microwave and gas cook-top) as there are no decent shops within walking distance. Although we later found out that the guy who runs the kava bar on the Nasauri Highland road (approx. 200m from the end of the driveway) will cook some food to order - didn't try it but could be worth a try!

This is only a very slight niggle and probably only because we did a bit of cooking (we are a family of 4) but it would have been good to have a more absorbant cloth for wiping the benches, a couple more tea towels and a bit more kitchen ware (plates, cups, knives and forks) - but to be fair I didn't mention this to Radhini (the owner) because I'm sure if I had, she would have rectified this.

Lovely views of mountains , snacks and wine available which was handy as the location was a few kilometers from any shops

No detailed instructions to get to the apartment Merely a road name and booking .com need to update the name of the site. We had to rely on the local taxi driver to call them for directions . Lack of power early in the morning

Lovely scenery. Nice and clean and very comfortable and quiet. A big highlight - the friendly and accomodating staff! Always available and flexible for transfers in and out of town, which was very much appreciated with some of our last minute plans etc. Another highlight was when we were poolside and were cut and served fresh coconuts straight off the tree! I stayed with my partner and his sister and we had a lovely 10 nights. A traditional Lovo was also provided upon our request and the whole service from fire to table was beautiful! Overall, we had such a peaceful trip staying here, would definitely come back. Vinaka!

As expected it was a little bit away from some hotspot places like Denarau - we had family at a resort in Denarau so were frequently going back and forth but would still stay here over a busy, touristy resort anyway. And as mentioned the flexibility and availability with transfers made that no issue 😊
