Mayfair hotel Blackpool city centre

Location is great for the beach and shops. Beds were comfortable and our host was very helpful.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

Our room was clean and comfy beds perfect location for my daughter dance comp

Only thing shame we didn’t have a wardrobe in our room as there wasn’t anywhere to hand my daughter comp dress but other than that was ok

I stayed here last year with the previous people who ran the Mayfair, I chose to sleep on top of the sheets or walk on the floor without my shoes on. The transformation is simple but made our stay so much more comfortable. There was no longer a grubby carpet and the sheets were crisp white. The place was clean and for such a decent price it was definitely woth the stay as you are right in the centre of Blackpool making it easy to find your way around.

One thing I would say could be improved is maybe having forks and spoons available as we just wanted a pot noodle. Also an iron being available. There could have been one as there was an ironing board but I couldn’t find one if there was.

Beds were new and very comfortable, Tom who rents the managers quarters was really lovely.

Being self-ran, without any actual staff feels like a way to cut costs at the expense of quality, because if not for Tom we would have had no loo roll! There was none in the shared toilet, so whilst the owner texted if we'd have let them know the cleaner would have put some in, I'm not convinced. They suggested we could go and buy our own from the corner shop which felt cheeky to say! No hot water after the first day. Unnecessarily bulky desk for TV, leaving very little floor space. But concerned a bit about no actual staff - if anything makes you feel they aren't as invested as they could be in offering a good service. Tom should be paid for doing the role of hotel staff!
