About this house rental
Great location for year round activities; hiking, biking and off-roading in the summer and a variety of snow sports in the winter. Minutes away from Santa's Village, Snow Valley Resort, Snow Drift Tubing Park and Rim Nordic Cross Country Ski Area & Mountain Bike Park. There is also Tucker Field which is located about 100 yards from the house and is a nice public baseball/softball field and is available to guests. : https://www.rim-rec.org/arrowbear-tucker-ball-field. The home is the only one directly on Arrowbear Lake which is about 4-5 acres in size. It is a seasonal lake subect to rain and snow, and is usually stocked with fish twice a year with catchable Rainbow Trout by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) typically between April and October. Stocking amounts traditionally average around 500 pounds per delivery during peak spring and summer stocking months. A valid California fishing license is technically required for anyone age 16 or older. Bag Limits: The general limit is 5 trout per day, with a possession limit of 10 trout. Because exact delivery dates shift based on hatchery availability and water levels, you can view real-time updates on the CDFW Fish Planting Schedule Search. The lake is fairly small but can change quickly with rain. There is also Green Valley Lake nearby which is about twice the size of Arrowbear Lake and is about 15min away. Daily fishing is open from 5:30 AM to 8:00 PM, requiring a valid California fishing license and a local daily pass ($21 for adults, $11 for children under 16, $16 for seniors/military). https://www.gvlfishing.com Hope this helps. Larger, additional lakes in the area include Big Bear Lake which is about 25min away to the East and Lake Arrowhead to the west about 20 minutes. There is also Snow Summit and Bear Mountain Ski Resorts for even more winter fun. Lake Arrowhead Resort and Village is 20 min to the West with shops and amenities.
Being situated directly on Arrowbear Lake there are two single person kayaks as well as paddles and flotation vests at the house for use. Use is of course at own risk.
This is a mountain property located at approximately 6,000ft in elevation. During winter months, be sure to check CALTRANS website for any special access restrictions on your travel route. The house has a few private parking areas at the home and room for approximately 3-5 cars. Parking is subject to potential snow in winter, there is no street parking. Vehicles may be required to have chains available or installed during winter months. The roads to and around the home are generally well plowed and cleared of snow regularly. Highway 18 is the main east-west road along the mountain communities and the house is just about a half of a mile off of this highway. If you are going up the mountain from San Bernardino to Running Springs or Arrowbear highway 330 will take you up. If you are going up through Lake Arrowhead (east) or Big Bear (west) those are different routes.
