I recently stayed at this apartment in Los Angeles with my family, and while there were some positives, our overall experience was unfortunately impacted by safety and parking issues.
On the positive side, the apartment itself was clean and fairly comfortable. It’s located near a central area, which made getting around convenient, and having an outlet nearby was also helpful. Inside the unit, everything was mostly fine, though there are a few small maintenance items that could use attention. For example, the hallway bathroom shower head (the detachable one) definitely needs replacing, and there were a few minor things around the house that could be fixed to improve the overall experience.
However, the biggest issue by far was parking and neighborhood safety. Despite there being space in the driveway for two cars, guests are not allowed to park there. This forced us to park several blocks away because street parking was extremely limited. To make matters worse, the people who live nearby park in a way that prevents others from using available curb space, which makes finding parking even more difficult.
Because of this, my mom, sister, and I had to walk about three blocks back to the apartment late at night — and during that walk, we were harassed by what appeared to be someone under the influence or a stranger from the neighborhood. It was a very frightening and dangerous situation, especially considering we were three women traveling together.
When I brought this serious safety concern to the owner, instead of showing understanding, I was told my car would be towed if we parked in the driveway — even after explaining what had just happened to us the night before. That response felt dismissive and added stress to an already upsetting situation.
While the apartment itself was decent, the parking situation and lack of concern for guest safety made this stay uncomfortable. I truly believe this is a major safety hazard, particularly for women or families. With better parking accommodations and more empathy toward guests’ concerns, this could be a much better experience. Unfortunately, due to how this was handled, I would be hesitant to stay here again.
