The location and house are special and beautiful. Some centuries ago, this was a monastery and the owner rebuilt it.The place is very quiet surrounded by hundreds of olive trees. The house, especially the kitchen is well equipped. The beds are firm and have a nice bedlinen. There is plenty of storage available in the bedrooms. Good wi fi , particularly in the center of the house. The place is safe. The owner and his daughter are very helpful and respond super fast to any queries. They were very accommodating with our late arrival. They left for us a traditional Umbrial cake as a welcome gift, which was so nice. There is a hot tub, jacuzzi which was fun after days of sightseeing.
the access road could be improved a bit, maybe some bigger stones removed from time to time

Our stay in Claudio's house was just wonderful, we enjoyed very much every and all the details of this perfect house, its style and soul. At arrival, everything was in place, including a nice sweet treat... The kitchen and the dining are extremely well fitted, as one does in his/her own house, with everything one possibly need. There is AC in every room, but the house is well insulated and it was not really necessary, in the end. The garden and the olive trees around are very well kept and we benefited from the quiet sorounding. It is a special treat to be able to wake up in total silence (except for the natural sounds, of course!) The main room was perfect for our family, allowing for many many game and TV nights.
The last metters of the way up, but it was our mistake, we rented a small car.

This is perhaps the most beautiful home I've stayed in. The pictures are nice, but they don't capture the beauty of this place. The house was meticulously cleaned when we arrived, and our host, Claudio, had stocked the kitchen with basic items for cooking our first night and a pastry breakfast the next morning. When we arrived, Claudio picked us up from the Spello train station. There were six of us, so Claudio took us in two groups. The house is located in a remote spot on the hill, which makes it very quiet and peaceful. There are a few other homes visible from the house, so you don't feel completely isolated, but these are all a little walk down the hill. Claudio gave us a thorough tour of the house with detailed information about how to use everything. His generosity and kindness were apparent from the beginning! Halfway through our trip, Claudio messaged us to check in and see if we needed anything. We also briefly texted with Francesca, Claudio's daughter, with a question during our stay, and she promptly replied with some suggestions. These hosts were nothing short of amazing.
Highlights: stunning architecture (it's a former monastery), tasteful modernization (kitchen and bathrooms leave nothing to be desired), quiet rooms, plenty of space to gather in the main living area, jacuzzi outside, idyllic back yard.
Tips: You need a car. We are hikers, and had initially planned to hike/train to various places in Umbria. However, we also wanted to enjoy the town, go to restaurants, and stock up on some groceries. This is why we needed a car. While it is possible to walk to town (a very pleasant walk along the aqueduct or down the road), it is a good 40 minutes to town on foot, and it is not always flat (or paved). Hauling groceries back to the house is not realistic. If you ONLY plan to hike, you'd be fine without a car. There's plenty to do via hiking. But if you want to visit towns, rent a car.
