Grand Palace Hotel & Resort Dhaka

The hotel was very clean. Staff were very attentive. Breakfast was great.

Some of the prices for menu items were excessive (even for a hotel). Limited lifts meant times waiting. Please note these are minor things and should not detract from the great stay.

Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of both local and international dishes. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast selection every morning. The hotel's location is also very convenient, with many restaurants and shopping areas within walking distance. Although the hotel is not very close to the international airport, it is only about a 30–45 minute taxi ride away, depending on traffic. The hotel also offers airport pick-up and drop-off services for an additional charge, which is very convenient. One thoughtful touch I appreciated was the complimentary daily newspaper delivered every morning. The bathroom was spacious, clean, and well maintained. The check-in and check-out processes were both fast and smooth. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and was extremely satisfied with the hotel's service and facilities. I would definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

I stayed in Deluxe Room 407 for two nights. Overall, the room was comfortable, but I had a couple of minor issues. The room has a pillar in the middle, which makes the space feel smaller than it appears in the photos on Booking.com, where the pillar was not visible. Unfortunately, I bumped into it a couple of times during the night. I hope that on my next visit, the hotel management can assign me a different room. Another small issue was that the bellboy informed me that a complimentary fruit basket would be delivered shortly after I checked in, but it never arrived during my stay. It wasn't a major concern, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

The location was not good.

Considering a 4-star hotel, it's a good place to stay. It's my 2nd time visit to the Grand Palace within 3 months. The taste of food is really good, I enjoyed breakfast and Dinner several times. The room and the washroom are okay. I was in a superior suite. At the first visit, when I stayed on the upper floor, the room was quite good. But on my 2nd visit, they gave me a room on the 4th floor, which was not as good as the room on the upper floor. Overall, it's worth the money!

Check-in and check-out times are not expected to be compared to other hotels in the city. Their standard check-in starts from 2 pm and check-out is on 12 pm! It's unexpected! Even if you cross any of these timeline, you will be charged 50% extra for early check-in or late check-out. Normally, In other hotels check-in start at 12 pm and check-out up to 2 pm! They should also do like this. The lady who is working on reception is also reacting like a robot and is very strict on this check-in and check-out timing! She even keeps calling from 11 am for check-out! Even on the personal contact number if she can't connect on the phone! Strange! I don't know if they are doing this with only local guests or foreigners, too! Another thing, in the restaurant, the staff keep gossiping too loudly! They aren't well-trained or don't know how to show courtesy to guests! It's really notable and disgusting. It must be monitored by the authority, as I experienced it several times. The last thing, the rooms aren't soundproof because of the manufacturer's fault, I guess. The noises from the street are noticeable and disturbing. The roadside glass isn't also ...... anybody can see you from other buildings....
