The lock of the mailbox was abit tricky to open, maybe can change a new lock. Found ants on the dining table and hairs on bed cover, maybe can further improve on the cleanliness.

The apartment is on a high floor, and I enjoyed the view of Singapore and the straits from the balcony and the bedroom window. The bed is comfortable, the apartment is quiet (can hear some construction and traffic sounds but they are not distracting), and it's the perfect place to go to when you want some quiet time. It's also relatively easy to walk to JB City Square and JBCC malls for food and other necessities (just have to be okay with jaywalking and no pavement at times). I came here to do some focused work for a few days, so overall it was a good place for me to do that.

FIrstly, there was a trail of ants going to and from the kitchen, along the wall into the bedroom, and along the wall to the bathroom. I had notified the host via WhatsApp shortly after I arrived, and they said they will send a manager to take care of it on that same day, but I don't think anyone came while I was out, and there was no further update on this during the rest of my stay. Secondly, I noticed that the rain showerhead comes out of a false ceiling, and there was a dark ring of water damage (and possibly mould) at this spot, about 30-40cm in diameter, which looks like it's been that way for at least a few weeks. Thirdly, both aircons badly needed servicing, as they were both set to the coldest setting (16C in the living room, and 19C in the bedroom, both on the highest fan), but the overall room temperature was 26C. Even with both aircons on, I needed to turn on the ceiling fan as well, and even with this setting the room was too warm to sleep comfortably under the covers. Fourthly, I believe it was stated in the listing that the TV had streaming services, but it didn't. It only had Singapore's Mediacorp TV channels. It was also not possible to pair my iPhone to the TV for screen mirroring. As mentioned in what I liked, I was there to do some focused work so watching TV wasn't really my priority, but if I had been there for vacation, it would have been really annoying to be promised something that wasn't delivered. Overall, I feel like the residence is not really well-maintained compared to other similar places I've stayed at in the same area of JB, and considering I paid close to $80 SGD per night, I just felt like it's really not worth it. You can get much better stays for far less.
