Excellent place within your budget! I do not have any words to express how great they are. They are really exceptional!! By the way, if you stay there, do not eat elsewhere. All the other places will rip you off!

Place is decent for that price range. It doesnt have a lift. So enjoy climbing to 4th floor, folks.

My family have returned from a wonderful New year stay at Turtle Hive, also known as Velaa Vani in Dhiffushi. We had 3 double rooms with half board for 5 nights here. I highly recommend this accommodation. We felt so welcome and the staff here are wonderful and helpful, genuine people. I must admit, I was slightly wary after I booked, because I couldn’t find very much online about this accommodation. It was also amazing value, and I wondered at times if it was too good to be true. I want to write comprehensive review to reassure any travellers who felt a little like I did. You can’t go wrong at this accommodation, it really exceeded all of our expectations. Once you’ve booked, you can converse with the hotel by WhatsApp. They always come back to you really quickly which was reassuring. We were informed that we should let them organise our return transfers by shared speedboat to/from the Airport. I realise, we often like to be in control of these things and know precise timings etc. However, it doesn’t work like this in the Maldives! In this case, we put our trust in Vela Vani and we were delighted. There are helpful people at arrivals who spot anyone not picked up by the big resorts, and they assist you and check you know where you are heading. We had been given instructions on where to head and then a man assisted us on to the boat to Dhiffushi. We had about an hour to wait from arriving until the boat, which allowed us to rest and get some nice cool drinks. The boat journey took approx 40 minutes. It was fast with a nice breeze. They kindly took care of all the luggage. Once at Dhiffushi, we were met by staff from Turtle Hive for a warm welcome and they drove us on a golf cart to the hotel, giving some info about the island on the way. We were given a welcome drink and shown our lovely rooms, all of which had a small windows looking on to the beach. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious with good air con. We were very happy with the rooms. If you want new towels or a room refresh, you let them know by WhatsApp and it will be done, otherwise they leave you alone. There is chilled filtered fresh water, tea and coffee available at no cost in reception. Hot water for the shower was a bit hit and miss as it’s all solar, but manageable. The location is the best on the island in my opinion. In easy reach of everything and very central. We had half board and all meals are served in the Downtown restaurant which is right on the seafront with an incredible view. (Sunset side) It’s really very beautiful and calming. All meals are plentiful, particularly breakfast which is continental or Maldivian. I am still missing my daily Maldivian breakfast which was delicious. Our included meal was from a choice of a handful of simple dishes. You could mix and match from the main restaurant menu if you wanted other options which you would pay extra for. The meals were fine. Not amazing, but perfect for included food. Service was very slow so we were careful to allow for this, but the staff are so lovely and friendly and sweet. The great thing about having an included meal is that you could take it anytime between 12 noon and 8pm, so you could work it around your plans for the day. When we left, they even packed up some breakfast items for us which we enjoyed at the airport before our flight. So sweet and thoughtful. Also tied to the hotel is a Watersports centre. They offer reduced rates for guests. We went on a turtle snorkelling trip and a nurse shark trip. Both very good value and highly recommended. Whilst on the island, we also hired jet skis from a place at the North end of the island and they were brilliant fun, and they even included drone footage. The island is simple and beautiful. It’s working island and it was fun people watching there, whilst ordinary life goes on. The island is charming, and now home, we miss the kind people, the easy going vibe and the beautiful nature. Everything was above expectations. They have organize speed boat and waited for at the port. Room, breakfast, good at the restaurant - everything was much better than we expected. Staff were also super pleasant and helpful! Definitely we will come again 🙏🏻
