Lemonsea Onomichi

I was expecting an old inn but it was nice inside, clean, near the bus stop and big grocery store. The facilities are clean and no funky smell. I will definitely go back here 🧡

Really lovely stay here. The manager was really nice and helpful and chatty. Such a comfy sofa area with a nice vibe. It would of been nice to of had a microwave and kettle in the kitchen at the back rather than having to use the one in the bar area but not a massive deal. Bed was nice, as was the showers. They hire bikes for the Onomichi trail. Would stay again. Thank you : )

After cycling the Shimanami Kaido for a few days we ended our trip at Lemonsea Onomichi. We had the top floor room, a beautifully designed space with a private terrace. Unfortunately the terrace proved unusable in the July heat and even the room was quite hot with the flat roof. Still we enjoyed the room and stay a lot and the staff were helpful in finding me a space to charge my e-bike. The only comment we have is the toilet having only a curtain, which for two friends staying in one room is a bit tricky!

Pros: - The hotel/hostel is a short walk from Onomichi Station so it's quite convenient to get around - The room and facilities are generally clean and refreshed - The location is near a large Welcia and AEON so it would be super convenient for snacks and toiletries etc - The local staff are friendly and welcoming Cons: - The walls/doors are relatively light and as such make a lot of noises when guests leave early in the morning or arrive late at night - The foreign male staff member who tended to us on our first night when checking in wrote the wrong room password on our check-in card, and insisted that he wrote it correctly when we asked for help. " Did you mistake my y for a 4?" "Did you mistake my 4 for a 2?" We clearly tried all possible combinations before asking for help. In the end, the mistake was him writing a 2 as a 1...and he still said this to us before parting ways: "I wrote a 1? It was clearly a 2"
