    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful weekend trip for couples.We had a fantastic time at this beautiful retreat. The atmosphere is serene and deeply relaxing, making it an ideal spot for a couples' vacation. We loved spending time by the clean swimming pool and enjoying the quiet village-themed surroundings. The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and very cozy. Every meal felt fresh and home-cooked. The hospitality was top-notch, ensuring we had a comfortable and stress-free stay. We will definitely come back!

    This resort is near to Kolkata. One can reach from Taratala junction via Joka within 40 - 45 minutes by car. They have a pick and drop facility, though one has to inform in advance. The cab owner Mr. Hassan can also be contacted directly (+91 7980336880). The car is brand new and Hassan is a very good driver, as well as a true gentleman. One important point is to be noted. Though it's much cheaper to reach this place from Akhra railway station, the total journey is quite hectic. The shared car stand is quite a long way from the station, there are few cars which do not start until all the seats are full. Moreover, one can't sit comfortably with 12 - 14 other passengers. Only solution is to pay for a couple of extra seats. Gram Bangla Retreat is situated in a semi rural area. Though it's just beside the main road, there is no traffic noise inside, only the chirping of various birds. The atmosphere of this resort is very serene. There are 8 nos single room cottages, 2 nos double room cottages and a two storied building with 4 rooms in each floor. All the rooms are air conditioned. The entire area is covered with various trees, which has a very soothing effect. The cottage rooms are reasonably sized and the bathrooms are quite spacious with all the modern amenities. There is quite a large dinning hall. A newly built mini swimming pool is now ready to be used by the guests. Just beside the pool there is a two storied building. There is an ac hall on the ground floor, most probably for parties or other ceremonies. On the first floor there is a clay modelling workshop where the guests can try their hands under the instructions of a teacher. A regular size carrom board is also there. Backside there is a field for the children. The adult guests can also play badminton there during winter. Now come the points of service and food. All the food items are very tasty, reasonably priced and quantity sufficient. They have fixed timings for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is served quite fast. Their room service is also very prompt, only takes a minute or two after a phone call. All the staff are young, energetic, courteous, efficient and helpful. They do their duties amicably and with a smile. They all, specially the supervisor Mr. Aamir, monitor the needs of all the guests continuously. If one wants to escape from the hustle and bustle of this noisy city and spend a day or two peacefully, then Gram Bangla Retreat is definitely worth visiting.

    Food was good. But during checking in I had bad experience. No welcome drink was served, there was no wifi, AC wasn't working properly. There was no tea or coffee in the room. When I asked for tea initially they refused. Then I ordered for tea calling the restaurant, but even the restaurant refused to serve tea. Then I had to escalate to have a cup of tea. I informed the manager that we didn't get any welcome drink. But still we didn't get any.

    Good for a 1day trip, however the expenses for stay aren't worth the price. They take additional charges for every single service.
