The place clean and housekeeping checked on us daily. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price wasn't unfair when you consider inflation BUT I wouldn't pay the non Expedia or booking prices to stay here. I get the vibe its private owned not corporate and I know that makes it harder to replace beds or bedding because I know the more mattresses you buy the cheaper they get (in hospitality it is required you use hospitality supplier you can't just go to Walmart on black Friday and get new bedding or furniture)-this doesn't make it difficult for private owned hotels to update their rooms. Again everything was clean but the blankets were ripped at the edges, worn and thin. The mattress didn't make me sore in the morning but it was not comfortable enough to avoid repositioning often and it was hard falling asleep. It does have on site laundry at decent coin operating prices and they do have detergent if needed. It does have a fitness room i did not check out but was appreciative to know it was an option if I'd had time. Parking was good. Location was easy to find, access and close to local shops and restaurants while being removed enough to enjoy low traffic and associated noise. On a discounted price platform, I would stay again while traveling through on a budget but if I was looking for a cloud bed or oversize TV or elaborate breakfast I would not stay and I would not come for over 70 (the bookingdotcom price) a night. Again, while understanding inflation and hospitality restrictions i think they did a good effort trying for hygiene kindness. For a mom and pop owned budget this is probably a 4 star place. If you're accustomed to corporate paid chain hospitality its probably a 2.5-3 star. Just trying to give a straight forward review as a guest who was once a mom and pop motel manager, acknowledging both sides.
Rooms could use dehumidifier or dessicrant to address wet smell.
Blankets were needing retired. Beds could use mattress topper pads if mattresses aren't affordable to be updated.
Bed covers are ineffective as comforters and too old/worn out/outdated to be considered decorative.
Coffee was weak.
I didn't expect the Hilton for the price but I don't expect 70yo bedding anywhere.
Tvs are... desktop monitor sized not fit for 2 queens in such a big room.
