We had a wonderful stay in Roubia, and the first thing I want to mention is just how welcoming Ingrid and Sylvain were. In the run-up to our trip, they answered all of our questions promptly which made planning very easy. When we arrived, they gave us an exceptionally thorough introduction to the property. All those little concerns you sometimes have when arriving at a holiday villa, such as how to use the swimming pool cover, air conditioning or kitchen appliances, simply weren't an issue because they took the time to explain everything clearly. The villa itself is exceptional. It has a huge wraparound garden with a private driveway, secure gated entrance, swimming pool, boules area, barbecue and a wonderful outdoor dining table with an adjustable covered roof. Inside, the property is beautifully presented, with a spacious kitchen and living area, three comfortable double bedrooms, a bathroom, separate toilet and en-suite facilities. Everything was immaculately maintained and finished to an exceptionally high standard. The location is superb. The Canal du Midi is only a few minutes away on foot or a short cycle ride. The property is also in a very quiet area, and we were never disturbed by noise from neighbouring houses, traffic or passing cars. One day we cycled easily to Olonzac for the wonderful weekly market, where we picked up fresh bread, cheese, meat and vegetables before returning to the villa for lunch. On another day we enjoyed a relaxed cycle to Le Somail, passing through charming villages and stopping for a leisurely lunch. The surrounding area is perfect for slow cycling, good food and exploring the beauty of the region. Some of our favourite moments were simply spending lazy afternoons at the villa, swimming in the pool and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. There is the tiniest part of me that wants to leave a bad review so that we definitely get our preferred dates next time :-) but that wouldn't be fair. It's a wonderful property.
