Die Lage an einer viel befahrenen Straße mit starkem Auto und Motorradlärm; die zu warme Daunendecke für den Sommer; dass es im Turm sehr heiß war;

Věž nelze přehlédnout, z privátního parkoviště to je ke vstupní bráně jen pár kroků. Žasnu a obdivuji citlivou revitalizaci, pěkné věžní schodiště, dokonalou řemeslnou práci i myšlenku s níž je řešeno prostorové uspořádání. Pokoj La Cardinale - druhé podlaží, key-box a … WOW … v jednoduchosti je genialita, to platí i zde. Světlá místnost, dvě pohodlná křesla, bílé stěny s lehkým grafity, žádná televize – ta by dojem zničila, široké dvoulůžko s vysokou středně tvrdou matrací, příjemné povlečení i polštáře, okna se zatemněním, vzdušně řešený úložný prostor, sjednocené osvětlení, nápaditý ochoz kolem celého pokoje na odložení věcí, kávovar s kapslemi v krabičce, koupelna s oknem, modifikace walk-in s termostatickou baterií, perfektní. Vše je nádherně sladěné, jak nové, skoro bych řekl, že jsme první hosté. Při příjezdu bylo na pokoji dost horko (29) a blízkou silnici určitě nešlo přeslechnout, s obojím jsme ale počítali, stačí se podívat na mapu a obrázky … odpoledne trávíme na vybavené terase, kam je zatím méně komfortní přístup, ale je tu stín a pofukuje, to je důležité, večer vše řeší - blízkou zatáčkou už řvoucí motorky ani nízká Ferrari nejezdí, intenzita provozu značně klesá, otevřenými okny profukuje chladnější vzduch, v noci doprava klesá k nule, okna navíc těsní tak, že případná auta nevnímáme – spalo se tu dobře. Originální ubytování v zachráněné věži byla trefa na desítku … obdivuji odhodlání, nápaditost a zručnost majitelů, na výsledek mohou být hrdí - moc se nám tu líbilo - na pokoji je kniha o (nejspíš) historii a rekonstrukci věže, bohužel jen ve francouzštině, anglická verze není, což je škoda, osobně bych coby cizinec uvítal i wi-fi, ale to jsou drobnosti, které vůbec nesnižují velmi pozitivní vnímání tohoto místa.

The Tower intrigued me for a place for a one-night stay. Location is further away up the hill from the next town, but everything can still be reached on foot. Room is fairly big and provides a desk with two additional and comfortable armchairs. Kitchen on the ground floor offers a refrigerator, stove, cutlery and cooking utensils. Everything is sufficiently clean. There were enough Nespresso-Compatible capsules already provided to enjoy cup of coffee in the evening and also in the morning - big positive after a long day in the seat.

Although it seems freshly renovated, furnishing quality is sub-par. The holder for the shower head is loose, door frame for the shower cabin is not straight, so the door seal cannot bridge the gap correctly. Covers on the book shelves are crooked and loose. Attention in the summer: upon arrival, room temperature of 31°C (88°F). It is impossible to cool down due to thick walls. No A/C is available - the control element on the wall serves only as a thermometer. Cutlery and cooking utensils are absolutely subpar. It felt like mix-n-match out of college/universitys dorms... No sharp knifes, spoons and forks in different sizes. It was like a sum of all the things that were used and abused. Although there is a WLAN router clearly visible above the kitchen door, and the WLAN signal showing as strong at the second floor of the tower, there is no info about connecting to it. Upon request, the response was that there was no WLAN all together; that the thick walls do not allow the signal to pass. But the WLAN was there already... Even if just used on the ground floor in the kitchen, it would be great to have it to plan the route for the next day. One thing is correct: the thick walls do not let wireless signals easily through - even cell broadcast will be slow and will work better if you open the window and sit by it. Lack of WLAN is indeed a big negative here.
