Very quiet and peaceful place surrounded by nature. The host was very kind and very good yoga instructor. I would highly recommend ✨

Athila is a wonderful caring host. He was very attentive to our needs and an extraordinary yoga teacher aswell if somebody is interested in learning yoga. The place is simple , clean but decorated with very much taste. If you love being in nature it is a perfect place to stay and enjoy this hidden gem. I truly recommend this beautiful Herbal paradise wich is surrounded by 3 of the most beautiful beaches in Sri lanka in my opinion.

Although there weren’t many reviews available, we decided to take a chance on Herbal Paradise — and we were not disappointed. The house is beautifully rustic, traditional, comfortable and peaceful. At night you fall asleep to animal sounds and the crashing of the waves and during the day you can observe peacocks and squirrels in the garden, occasionally some monkeys. Our room was very generously sized, with a large, beautiful bathroom, plenty of big windows, multiple fans and a comfortable bed with a mosquito net. We enjoyed spending time on the terrace and the outdoor kitchen is well equipped, making it easy to prepare our own meals. A water dispenser with filtered drinking water is available at all times, which meant we didn’t need to buy any bottled water. The place is owned and run by two young Sri Lankan yoga teachers of whom we got to meet one, Akhila, who was accommodating and lovely. Private yoga lessons we also available upon request. Silent Beach, the most picturesque beach we’ve seen in Sri Lanka so far, can be reached via a small shortcut (a bit adventurous but very doable) along the walls of a nearby luxury resort, in about 5–10 minutes. Goyambokka Beach is easier to access but smaller and mostly taken over by beach bars. Overall, the area is very laid-back and quiet (at least when we visited in early January), yet there are plenty of nearby restaurants offering home-cooked food — a combo we loved:). Some of the surrounding resorts also offer massages and yoga classes that are open to non-guests. It’s worth mentioning that in line with traditional Sri Lankan housing, this is a bit of an inside-outside living situation, which means that occasionally an insect may find its way into the room – something we didn’t mind at all, but worth noting for those who prefer more sterile environments. The walls between the two rooms also don’t connect all the way to the roof, so some sound will travel between the rooms. Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs.
