Henann Garden Resort

Great location! Near D Mall, and there are trics outside the hotel. Clean rooms! The staff are friendly and very polite - esp the guards at the beach access. We enjoyed hanging out by the pool bar. Really enjoyed their cocktails. We will definitely come back.

What we did expect a more international breakfast. This is quite the price point and the breakfast buffet was catered more towards the huge amount of Korean tourist. Barely fruits, some bread with a bit of cheese, cheap Marmelade, Cornflakes and milk,… for Europeans not much and a bit disappointing :( other facilities were good and as expected. And if one likes busy areas for dinner and shopping then the location is great 👍 and still quiet within the resort. All was clean and well taken care of and the staff was warm, welcoming and always friendly ❤️

Bottom line to start, it’s a nice resort, particularly the pools, but it is 5 star prices for a 3 star experience. Despite it being a nice looking property, I can’t recommend and wouldn’t stay here again, especially not at these prices. Im not sure what the criteria is for a 5 star hotel but when compared to others I’ve stayed at in the Philippines this is, at best, a 3 1/2 star. The rooms are clean and relatively spacious and the pools are beautiful. Being able to walk through the grounds to the beach instead of down a back alley is certainly a plus but that’s about the extent of the good, which in my opinion, doesn’t outweigh the bad. As for the bad, I’m sure the wooden blinds in the room that didn’t stay closed gave the other guests a good show but it also made it difficult to sleep past 530am. None of the main room doors in the hotel are adjusted properly. All have significant gaps at the top. If you have the misfortune of staying in the enclosed hallway above the lobby, you get to hear what sounds like a shotgun blast every time someone lets their door close on its own. Between the blinds and doors, sleeping more than 4 hours a night was elusive. The rest of my gripes are more annoyance from paying for an expensive 5 star resort and not getting what is expected even at the basic level. There was no bottled water available in rooms, no robes, no slippers, none of the niceties that you typically get at a high 3 star and above establishment. Housekeeping was hit or miss. If your room is available when they are near by they will tidy up but if not, you probably won’t get service. I also found it odd that I could not get extra bath towels either from housekeeping or from the front desk. The floor drain in the bathroom floor smelled like a swamp and the water in the sink and shower alternated from a comfortable cool to boiling hot without touching a thing. Finally, the buffet was not good at all. I tried breakfast, which was included with the room and I tried the dinner buffet one night. I’d rate breakfast at the bottom end of acceptable. Very limited options but the pastry was good and coffee is great. Dinner was not good at all. Even though dinner was half off regular price it was still a poor value. Very limited selection of food, which was all cold, limited drinks unless buying the all you can drink package. That package sounds like a fair deal until you realize your choices are flat soda out of two liter bottles or warm generic beer served in a glass of ice which makes the beer worse by being diluted. Like I stated at the top, clean rooms, a beautiful set of pools and direct beach access provided what is essentially an overpriced 3 star hotel that needs some maintenance and amenity improvements to make it a 4 star hotel, let alone achieving anything close to a 5 star rating. Unfortunately I absolutely cannot recommend at the current prices or level of amenities.
