A warm welcome to the sunny island of Rügen, on the beautiful Mönchgut Peninsula in the charming Baltic Sea resort of Baabe. The Mönchgut Peninsula is located within the UNESCO Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve, with its unique cultural landscape, long sandy beach, the Zicker Mountains, and the Baaber Heide. Numerous marked biking and hiking trails make it easy for you to explore this special little corner of the world. At the gateway to Mönchgut, the Baltic Sea resort of Baabe welcomes you, surrounded by a fine-sand Baltic Sea beach, the blue sea, vast forests, the Baabe Heath, Lake Sellin, and much more. Baabe can be reached via the historic “Rasender Roland” narrow-gauge railway, the RADzfatz bike bus, and, of course, by car or bike. The “Unser lütt Bahn” resort train runs several times a day within town from Strandpark to Bollwerk.
A wide range of sports activities, such as surfing, water skiing, beach volleyball, and kitesurfing, are available to you.
Strandstraße invites you to stroll and linger in the numerous shops, restaurants, and cafés. The forest, perfect for walking, jogging, biking, or hiking, is right on your doorstep. Nearby, at the entrance to Baabe Beach Park, you’ll find our vacation home “Strandmelodie,” newly renovated in 2025, located about 200 meters from the Baltic Sea beach and the crashing waves. The melody of the sea and the rustling of the pine trees will accompany you during the most beautiful days of the year.
Strandmelodie Vacation Home - Dünenpark - approx. 150 m to the beach:
The cozy Strandmelodie vacation home, built in 2005 using timber construction and renovated in 2025 (No. 08c), built in 2005 using timber construction and renovated in 2025, is located in Dünenpark Baabe, surrounded by the sea and forest. This pet-friendly, non-smoking home—ideally suited for 2 to 4 adults plus 1 toddler up to 3 years old in a travel crib—is accessed through a small entryway with a coat rack. On the first floor is the living and dining area with a cozy seating area featuring vacation reading material, a floor lamp, a smart TV, a DAB radio with Bluetooth, and internet access—which is included for you. If you’d like to make the evening even cozier, light the fireplace and wind down the day by a crackling fire with a glass of wine. Adjacent to the living area is the fully equipped kitchen, featuring a dishwasher, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a glass-ceramic cooktop, an oven, a microwave, a coffee maker, an egg cooker, a kettle, and a washer with a dryer function. The dining table seats everyone, and a high chair is also provided. Directly from the living and dining area, you can step out onto the patio, which is equipped with comfortable patio furniture, a stone grill, a canopy, and sunshades. The cheerfully furnished bedroom features a box-spring bed (1.60 m x 2.00 m) with adjustable slatted frames, a nightstand, reading lamps, a clothes rack, a safe, a smart TV, blackout curtains, and a closet. On the same level is the naturally lit bathroom with a walk-in shower, sink area, hair dryer, cosmetic mirror, insect screen, and toilet. A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor, where you’ll find the second bedroom with two single box-spring beds (each 0.90 m by 2.00 m), storage space, reading lamps, blackout curtains, a small seating area, and a dresser for storing clothes. The hallway also features a built-in closet where you can hang your clothes. Our dry sauna, which can be heated up to 100°, is located in the adjacent room with a view of the greenery. The small foyer has a seating area where you can relax. The house features underfloor heating in all rooms, and the bedrooms, living room, and dining area have insect screens on the windows to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep. You can safely store your rented or personal bicycles and e-bikes in the bike shed located next to the house, which includes a charging station. Pets are welcome guests—for a fee—as long as they have their own sleeping area. Your parking space (No. 08c) is located right nearby and within sight. You can book an initial linen package (complete set of bed linens, 1 bath towel, 2 small hand towels) for an additional fee up to 14 days before arrival, or you can bring your own to supplement it. If you book 2 or more packages, you’ll receive 1 dish towel and 1 shower mat as a one-time bonus.
Please note that the vacation homes are located in the biosphere reserve and, therefore, barbecuing with an open flame is not permitted when a forest fire alert is in effect.
The advance payment for utility costs is calculated based on individual usage (electricity: 0.39 euros/kWh) and refunded after departure.
Check-in is from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00, and check-out is from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
