I stayed at Nomad Hostel for three nights and honestly loved every bit of it. The atmosphere is fantastic, the place is clean, and the community vibe is top-notch. Big thanks to the wonderful staff, especially Amr, who was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and always made sure everyone was taken care of.

My first hostel experience and it completely exceeded every expectation. I originally booked for a few nights but somehow ended up staying over two weeks. The room and bathroom were spotless, the AC worked perfectly in the hot weather, and the breakfast was great, all at incredible value for money. The location is really convenient too, just a 10 minute walk from the lighthouse area. But what truly made this stay special was the community. The staff and guests were so warm and welcoming that it genuinely felt like a big family from day one. I got swept up in "family dinners" and World Cup debates that were all completely wholesome. I am really happy with the people I met along the way and would definitely recommend Nomads if you're considering your first hostel experience. I couldn't have imagined it being better. Huge shout out to Shreef, Loka, Amir, and the rest of the gang, and especially to Ahmed for making my experience unforgettable. I look forward to being back very soon.

Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Book While the location is great, there are a few issues future guests should be aware of. The room, while nice, is on the smaller side for the price, and cleanliness wasn't up to standard — the room didn't feel properly serviced. The shower setup also needs improvement, with no curtain or screen to keep water contained. On the staff side, while many were friendly, some clearly aren't well trained in guest communication and came across as outright rude at times. Breakfast was also a letdown — both in quality and in how requests for it were handled. Worth keeping in mind if room comfort, cleanliness, and breakfast matter to your stay.
Here's the updated version with that point added — I placed it after housekeeping since it's another room/facilities issue, and gave credit for the quick fix to keep the review balanced and credible: I stayed here at a rate of 2,200 EGP/night and unfortunately had an experience that fell well short of what that price should guarantee — and I think future guests deserve a heads-up. Rude treatment from kitchen staff: When I asked the chef if breakfast was available, I was met with open hostility and was simply ignored. It was so noticeable that another staff member nearby (who I want to genuinely commend — he stepped in, visibly uncomfortable, and told the chef, "He's a guest, please offer him something") had to intervene on my behalf. No guest should need an advocate just to get a basic breakfast. Noise control at night: Other guests were shouting in the common area late into the night, and staff made no effort to manage or quiet things down. For a property charging this rate, basic noise management after a certain hour should be standard. Room cleanliness and housekeeping: My bedsheets and covers were not fresh, and the room wasn't serviced daily. At 2,200 EGP/night, I'd expect at minimum a clean bed and routine housekeeping. Shower setup and water issues: The shower had no curtain, separator, or glass, which made the bathroom impractical to use without flooding it. Water pressure was poor on arrival, and there was no hot water — though to their credit, the hot water issue was fixed quickly once reported. My suggestion to management: Staff-guest communication clearly needs training, especially in the kitchen. A simple fix — offering a basic dish or even a short menu to any guest as soon as they appear, regardless of what's "in stock" — would solve this without adding real cost. Treating every guest with the same baseline courtesy and respect should not be optional.
