Southern Oasis: five-bedroom Isle of Palms retreat with a private pool, big lawn & a walk to the sand. Two daybed swings hang from the front porch, one on each side, and they tend to set the pace for the whole stay. Southern Oasis sits on a quiet, tree-lined street on Isle of Palms, close enough to hear the surf on a still morning and far enough from the crowds that the loudest thing on the block is usually the porch fan. Inside, an open floor plan runs the living, kitchen, and dining areas together into one long, bright stretch. The living room holds plenty of plush seating and a large TV, and the kitchen is genuinely built for a crowd — stainless appliances, a wide island with barstool seating, and enough counter space that two cooks never end up elbowing each other. Guests routinely call it the best kitchen they've had on the island. Upstairs, a second lounge with a TV and foosball table gives the group a place to scatter when the downstairs gets busy. Five bedrooms and a playroom sleep the whole group. On the first floor, Bedrooms 1 and 2 each offer a king bed with an ensuite bathroom. Upstairs, Bedroom 3 has a king with an ensuite, and Bedroom 4 pairs a king with a bathroom accessed from the hall. Bedroom 5 holds two queen beds plus a twin trundle. Off the bonus room, a small bunk room built for kids rounds things out. Every bedroom has a TV, and more than one review has singled out the beds as the most comfortable they've slept in. The backyard is the reason people rebook. A pool with a sun shelf and loungers anchors a wide poolside patio, and a large, fenced lawn gives kids somewhere to run while the adults keep an eye from the deck. Under the shade trees, the back patio holds an outdoor dining table, a fire pit table, and a grill, with string lights overhead for dinners that run past dark. The beach access is about a half mile walk from the front door, and the neighborhood you pass through on the way — all wide porches and old oaks — is a big part of the appeal. The Isle of Palms Marina is a similar walk in the other direction, where you can rent a boat, book a dolphin tour, drop a line off the dock, or grab a waterfront table at Islander 71. Front Beach, with its cluster of casual seafood spots and shops, is a quick drive down Palm Boulevard, and downtown Charleston is roughly thirty minutes away. Charleston earns its reputation on all fronts: rich history, sixty miles of coastline across five beach towns, and food worth planning a trip around. Walk Rainbow Row, tour the plantations and gardens up in Mount Pleasant, then come back to the island for shrimp and grits and a swim before dinner. If a house party, wedding, or reception takes place in a licensed vacation rental property, all guests will be required to immediately vacate. - You must be 25 years or older to book this home. - Please note that Early Check-In (ECI) and Late Check-Out (LCO) services are not available from May to September. - The playroom is a bunk room located off the bonus room and features two custom-made beds (22x66, with removable rails and ladder), slightly smaller than standard twins, designed for children only. - Pool heat is available for $100/day + tax (4-night minimum, 24-hour notice), weather permitting (average temperatures above 55°F). Pool heating is typically not needed in the summer unless unusually cool. If the system is down, we will refund any unused days of pool heat; however, additional compensation is not provided. - Guests must supply their own beach towels. - Beach chairs/toys are not included at this property. - This home allows up to 2 pets, approved in advance, for a fee of $250 per pet; undisclosed animals brought into the home without AvantStay’s approval may result in a minimum $500 fine. - Fireplaces are not for guest use. - Please note that due to natural coastal conditions, beach areas may experience periodic erosion that can affect shoreline size and accessibility. During periods of high tide, portions of the beach—or the entire beach—may be temporarily inaccessible. We are not able to guarantee identical beach conditions for future stays, and refunds or relocations will not be available due to these natural changes. - While we do our best to communicate any known work within Wild Dunes or nearby beach projects, many homes are privately owned and we are not always notified of surrounding activity. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs. As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation. Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions. As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards. IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 30 days require a security deposit. We report and prosecute all Credit Card Fraud.
