Earthbound Residence- Kandy

The bed was quite comfy. Nice interior. Breakfast was tasty. The hotel is quite clean. Most staff members are great. They thought about the view from the terrace and built a platform so it is not blocked by the nearby roof, and it has a nice table with chairs to have breakfast or tea. The restaurant area is great to hang out in. There was an issue with billing, and I ended up paying less than I owed; they waived it off when I contacted them to pay back. Nice cupboard to store clothes and small luggage in. Good quality tea and water provided with nice glassware. Overall, the room was quite comfortable except for sound issues. As most things are great already, I have high hopes that they will fix the issues I faced

There is no driver accommodation. The restaurant food options are limited. Difficult to find a place to charge the phone. There are many plug points, but only one near a surface, and that was the side cupboard next to the bed with a lamp. Lack of hangers in the cupboard. The bathroom had an instant hot water shower with a handheld shower, but it is mounted low, so have to take cold showers as the other showerhead only had cold water same with the wash basin. The instant hot water shower pressure was low and the positioning was not great as it was too high up and difficult to control the pressure or the temperature even as a 6 foot tall person. A breeze goes from the bathroom to the room when the bathroom door is open. Wish there was a rug around the bed and the table. Wish the rooms were sound proofed as the next door temple was loud because of an event and the same with a kovil a few hundred meters away. Daily housekeeping did not happen. Organization can improve; my breakfast was missing potatoes, and the bill wasn't itemized correctly, which ended up with me paying less than I should because they did not know why the price was higher than the USD-to-LKR converted value. The hotel contacted me to get my family member to rate them higher in her review

Sagara, the owner, met us at the airport and drove us to his delightful guesthouse in the hills of Kandy overlooking the city. He even bought us a meal on the way. He not only runs his charming guest house but also has a sustainable craft business employing over 800 local women. We wish we'd had more time to do one of his excellent tours. The guest house is immaculate with lovely, spacious rooms. We had a balcony looking down at the city. The restaurant also has a terrace with amazing views. The staff were superb,so attentive and polite. It was incredible value. Highly recommend

Stayed one night and it was nothing short of excellent. The property has a nice vibe, location is close to the city. I had a late check in but the staff was nice to stay till I arrive and made sure the check in was smooth. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. I had to attend a meeting the next morning and since there was no taxi available, the property arranged one of their cars and did not evn charge which was very kind of them. This will be my go to place in Kandy when I visit again. I booked on room only so did not try their food.
