Poppies Clunes

Poppies was amazing! Such generous hosts, we were astounded to find breakfast provisions, wine & snacks provided at no extra cost for our stay.

Nothing to dislike at Poppies - we loved it

It was nice to arrive to a heated room with lights on. It was lovely to have additional woollen blankets, and electric blanket, bathrobe and toiletries, though we didn’t light the scented candles as it was enough to simply remove the lid to smell the scented fragrance. It was lovely to have this option to light them. The fire was lovely to have. It was great to have the snacks, wine, and TV options ( Kayo, Netflix ), breakfast cereals and jam condiments. Liked the laundry though we didn’t need to use it. Nice to have music CDs and book collection. It was lovely to have all the additional homely comforts, such as lounge cushions, throws, playing cards, books, umbrella,. I would suggest a carry basket for groceries as you are an easy walking distance to the IGA.

It would be advisable to have more kindling that didn’t have paint on the wood. I was not comfortable using this as painted wood is not advisable to burn. Toxins from paint is unsafe. Instead we collected our own kindling from my mother’s property. I would strongly suggest you remove any painted wood from your fire chest box and replace with correct kindling.

Great location, very cosy with split system heating and electric blankets, snacks and supplies for a continental breakfast, clean, off street parking - can’t be faulted
