Riverside Retreat

What we liked: Our stay at Riverside Retreat was very enjoyable overall. The unit was clean throughout and the location is excellent — very close to the tram line, shopping centre, and plenty of cafes. The complex itself has great amenities, including a pool, sauna and gym. One of the highlights for me was having access to the Main Yarra Trail just behind the complex — perfect for a beautiful run or walk. Nick was a fantastic host — super helpful and a great communicator, which made the stay even smoother. Could have been better: There is only one air conditioner in the living area. On hot days, the bedrooms can get quite warm and tend to stay warm overnight.

The main drawback was the parking. I wouldn’t recommend it for guests planning to drive frequently in and out, as the parking charges apply on each entry (hourly rates plus a $5 overnight charge).

Beautiful spot, right by the river. Great coffee machine, lovely toiletries, good for a run down the river. Bonus to have pool and sauna. Balcony to sit out and cafe overlooking river on same site.

Everything just right.

Clean, fresh, light and spacious with great views. Very accommodating host.

The property was very clean and very well equipped with cooking and washing facilities. Public transport was easy to catch as tram stop was very close
