There are very few places to stay in this remote part of Peru south-east of Cuzco which can be reserved and guaranteed in advance. Our expectations were low but were exceeded. One or two reviews mention the difficulty of contacting the owner but we had no problem - the gate to the car courtyard (cochera) was open and the host was present. The bedroom was immaculately clean and the bed warm, the shower hot. Without heating, the room is cold so flip flops were useful and quick transition from shower to bed required. The host prepared for additional cost, not cheap by local standards (we had a two course lunch in Acomayo for 8 soles) but good quality, a delicious lomo saltado for supper (25 soles) and a buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs next morning (20 soles). The car was safely locked up in the car courtyard overnight. Communication with the host beforehand was good. The hotel deserves to do well.

Not so much about not liking but a couple of tips:- The host is a bit confused about the 18% tax - a sort of VAT or IVA payable by Peruvians not foreigners. Booking.com in their estimated total add this automatically because they don't know the nationality of the guests. We had one Peruvian and myself, a non-Peruvian, but in the Booking estimate this tax was charged to both of us. I couldn't manage to convince the host that the Booking total was simply an estimate and that I should not have been charged the 18%. It wasn't a lot of money but if you had a group of six foreigners for two nights it would be material. I suggested she, the host, have a chat with her accountant to understand the issue. Parking and access. You definitely need to use the cochera. There is no ability to park in the street outside. Entering the hotel. If you go out for a walk and want to get back into the hotel there is no doorbell. Banging on the shuttered gate to the cochera doesn't work - they can't hear - but there is another shuttered blue gate to the right and a small half-height door inset into it. Knock on this and you will be heard.

We made a last minute reservation to stay here on our way to Waqrapukara via Santa Lucia. Pomacanchi is a small village - a straightforward drive from Cusco. When we arrived, our host was waiting for us outside of the hotel. We parked inside the fence and unloaded our gear. Our host was very kind and made sure that we made it to our rooms. She then arranged for a time to meet the next morning. This hotel is not attended full-time but you can arrange for someone to unlock the parking lot gate ahead of time. It really wasn't a big deal at all. The rooms were unexpectedly nice and comfortable. Everything felt new and clean. No heat but that's common in Peru and the blankets were very warm. The shower was nice and hot. Our host had coffee waiting for us in the morning (small add'l cost) which was very nice. I recommend this hotel.

Nothing that I didn't like. However, it would be nice if there was a rug on the cold tile floor between the bed and bathroom...

O chuveiro demora a esquentar mas quando esquenta é muito bom. Existe um riacho ao lado que faz um barulhinho de chuva e ajuda a dormir. Este hotel ainda está sendo instalado, é todo muito novo, um dia será um hotel.

Havia apenas 1 toalha para 2 pessoas, porque não havia mais, era a última. Nos secamos usando as fronhas. Não há café da manhã, nem para ser comprado no local como diz a chamada. Não há aquecimento, não há recepção, o hóspede para o carro em frente e liga para um celular, dentro de alguns minutos vem uma senhorinha abrir a porta de ferro e cobrar a estadia. Existe um estacionamento seguro e gratuito ao lado, mas seu carro fica inacessível até ser libertado pela mesma senhorinha.
