The Mountain House

Everything we needed was there, modern appliances, plenty of cups and crockery and cooking implements. Relaxed ambience and the owners added more lounge seating for our party.

Difficult to mark anything down but if we have to suggest anything for improvement it would be 2 additional seats round the fire pit, and possible mattress toppers. While beds were comfortable, I’m used to a more plush mattress at home. But otherwise everything was lovely.

We loved the property’s convenient location, with plenty of beautiful lookouts, shops and wineries nearby. The enclosed outdoor space was perfect for the dogs, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a fire pit. It was great that firewood was provided to get us started with a cosy fire, and there were also plenty of nearby places to purchase more. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking, and we really appreciated the large dining table, which was perfect for enjoying meals together. There were plenty of bathroom supplies provided, and the bedding was warm, comfortable and cosy. Overall, it was a lovely place to stay and had everything we needed for a relaxing two nights.

We liked the location and the property's grounds. It had a fireplace that we could use.

All the mattresses in the 3 bedrooms were hard as rocks, the pillows wafer thin, no sugar was left for us, we ran out of toilet paper, the only cups for us to use were oriental style teacups and the lounge so uncomfortable for t.v. viewing as it was super close and superscreen sized. It was very overpriced.
