We have just spent the most wonderful and relaxing 9 days at La Tolona. The house is just beautiful and the photos don’t do it justice. Very spacious and beautifully decorated. The terrace has the most wonderful views and is the perfect peaceful spot for a morning coffee or late night glass of wine. There is also a large roof terrace where you can star gaze at the vast Alpujarran skies. The owners Miguel and Arancha live next door and were very responsive to any needs/questions but equally the house is very private. We loved staying in Valor, the perfect combination of peaceful, rural life but with a couple of small shops and bars, restaurants so we didn’t have to drive if we didn’t want to. The local pool is literally only a minute walk from the front door. 2 euros for the day, clean, beautiful setting and a great pool bar/restaurant which is open every evening. There are also other lovely pools 10 minutes drive away at Mecina-Bombarón and Ugijar. We have felt very lucky to have found such a beautiful spot and plan to return, maybe at another time of year to enjoy some of the mountain walks.

A manual/guide would be useful especially for overseas visitors.
