A Trip of a Lifetime—Made Even More Special by Casa Danni

Staying at Casa Danni was the heart of what made this trip truly unforgettable. Danni is, without a doubt, the most incredible host I’ve ever had, and her space radiates the same energy and charm that she does. The location is perfect—a short walk or moto ride from the beach—but honestly, the view from the balcony alone is reason enough to stay in and soak up the moment. Every morning, I enjoyed breakfast there, taking in the breathtaking scenery, sometimes joined by her wonderful cats. Occasionally spotting monkeys in the trees! Danni also provided an incredibly thoughtful list of recommendations, each one offering a unique and stunning glimpse into Rio. I won’t spoil the surprises, but trust me, they’re worth experiencing! The apartments themselves are gorgeous—immaculately clean and stylish. Before arriving, I had some hesitations about staying in a comunidade (favela), especially as a first-time visitor to Brazil. But in reality, it gave me an experience of Rio that many travelers might miss. The community is welcoming and vibrant, offering either space or connection depending on how you engage. Choosing to immerse myself was the best decision of my trip—I left with friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. Danni’s presence in the neighborhood is clearly one of deep respect and love, which made my stay even more special. As a solo female traveler, safety was naturally a concern, but I can confidently say that Casa Danni's is safe, beautiful, and provides a truly authentic experience of Rio. I also took advantage of the jiu-jitsu session offered—and my only regret is that I didn’t do more! The trainer was patient and skilled, and when (not if!) I return, I plan on making it a regular part of my stay. My only warning? Staying at Casa Danni might just make you want to pack up and move to Rio for good. You’ve been warned—good luck!

Exceptional

Staying in Daniella's apartment was one of my best experiences in Rio de Janeiro. The apartment is connected to nature, the place is organized, clean and calm. The slab offers a beautiful view of Christ, how beautiful!!! Daniella is always smiling, she made herself available when I needed her! Despite being located at the top of a community, it is very safe. Everyone in the community treated me very well! Thank you Daniella, for these beautiful days and see you soon 🌟🥳

L'intérieur moderne et propre. L'espace agréable, lieu calme. L'emplacement Copacabana peut-être alléchant, mais faut souffrir pour y aller . Merci pour les choses mises à disposition tels que sacs, produits vaisselle, etc. Le voisinage est très chaleureux comme tous les gens des favelas au Brésil quand on y habite. il faut connaitre. Daniela est adorable, m'a trouvé de supers bons plans. A cherché des solutions en cas de problème. Il faut obligatoirement qu'elle soit là pour l'installation donc j'ai eu 2 heures de retard à cause de l'avion et j'ai eu très peur qu'elle annule. ce système est à revoir.

vraiment l'accès est impossible, malgré que je sois sportive, je n'ai pas eu envie de sortie plus d'une fois par jour par rapport au parcours. Il n' y a pas de moto pour descendre, donc on a peur de tomber dans la pente. et pour monter si tu ne parles pas portugais il faut comprendre qu'il y a 2 queues pour le moto taxi, 1 spéciale pour monter tout en haut à l'appartement, et 1 autre. Des escaliers sont à prévoir, impossible de monter ses bagages seuls. La saleté à la sortie de l'appartement (matelas dégueu, crottes de chien partout, homme mitraillette) fait que je ne peux conseiller cette expérience à quiconque. Coupure d'électricité pendant plusieurs heures = pour ça idem je retournerai pas. Je n'ai aucunement profiter de la Terrasse car je n'ai pas apprécié qu'elle soit partagée. C'est bien pour les jeunes qui aiment la coloc / les ambiances auberges, mais moi j'étais en mode Voyage Solo. Pas de Vue, on est comme enfermé entre 4 murs.
