La ubicación es fantástica para moverse por la zona de la Arena y Centro, caminar a la playa es literalmente un minuto. El piso es amplio, estaba muy limpio y pudimos entrar una hora antes ( algo que se agradece cuando es un viaje largo y con dolor de espalda). El garaje es un punto plus, ya que la zona es complicada. Aunque es verdad que el acceso a la plaza no es sencillo y un coche grande lo tiene complicado.

La falta de ventiladores o aire acondicionado ( aunque entiendo que en Gijón ésto último no es lo habitual) hace que las ventanas tengan que permanecer abiertas por la noche, con el consecuente ruido. Si cierras , la insonorización es muy buena, pero al no poder hacerlo por las temperaturas, había mucho ruido nocturno ( la basura, la gente pasando y hablando bastante alto...lo normal del verano). Se agradecería algún ventilador y una tostadora.

Probably my own stupidity but I was confused with the keys for access to the garage. The host was very responsive to questions though

This is a beautifully decorated, spacious apartment in a location that is close to many amenities within walking distance...market, bank, restaurants and cafes, shoreline and more. We were very comfortable staying here. We had several questions upon our arrival in Gijon, but our host, Laura, was very gracious in helping us out. We especially enjoyed the option of eating out or preparing meals in the apartment. There is some street noise at night which might affect light sleepers, but we were not bothered. The elevator to the apartment was also much appreciated.

The pre-occupancy required forms need to be sent much earlier...maybe at the time of payment. I received the forms while traveling from the U.S. Luckily, I had internet access at my cousin's house in Madrid to complete the requested information. However, I could not print the form for signature, nor was I able to do an electronic signature. The information for the keys was also sent late, as we were already traveling to Gijon by car without internet access. In addition, the address for the location of the building with the lockboxes was incorrect. The building is actually two buildings down from the address given. It would also be helpful to have a "welcome notebook" of sorts in the apartment to list the location of nearby markets, recommended restaurants and cafes, nearby banks, instructions for the stovetop, location and/or type of cleaning pods for the dishwasher and washing machine, and renters' clean-up responsibilities. An electric coffee maker and tea kettle would be a nice touch, as would an extra set of towels, if needed.
