Definitely more of a off-grid glamping setup, the semi-outdoor bathroom was a fun touch. Very beautiful and remote location but still close enough to everything. cute landscaping and kind host.
I do wish the lights worked better. The lights in the bathroom didn’t really work so I had to use my flashlight in there. The outdoor kitchen lights didn’t work either. Not a huge deal though.

The landscaping and garden were lovely! The outside cooking area was clean and well equipped. The outdoor bathroom with shower was a fun feature! The bed was comfortable and there was a refrigerator and toaster. The host was very responsive and pleasant.
Although there was plenty of lighting we were not sure how to adjust the lights to not blink or turn on automatically when we wanted them off. Although there was a coffee maker, it needs a replacement filter and we didn’t bring any. We got drinking water because the water on site didn’t taste to our liking.

We were surrounded by animals, frogs singing at night, peacocks coming during the day, flowers and plants were like in the forest. This place is magical :) It was only a bit cold to shower outside since it’s September, but it was not a problem for us. Outside bathroom was interesting and had a great view.

This was Glamping in Hawaii at its best. Off grid, with wifi! We really enjoyed the outdoor bathroom - it has 2 full walls and 2 partial, totally private and open at the same time. The grounds are beautiful with the banyon tree and all the lovely plantings the owners have really made an effort. This place is a little slice of paradise and beautifully situated between Hilo and Volcanos National Park.
We loved it but you need to be prepared for something like camping. They absolutely provided linens, towels, dishes, etc. it was exactly as the listing and very clean. We brought paper towels, cutting board, spatula, steak knives, foil - things we thought we would need. If you are prepared for rustic beauty and want to see what it can be like off grid you should stay here.

What a place! I haven’t felt this close to nature in a long time.
I had some difficulties igniting the BBQ grill. But that might have been just me. It did work.

It was a long, long, bumpy dirt road to the property. We got to the end and could not find the place. It was dark no signs. We turned around at 10 o’clock at night and left. We have not got our money back. I would never recommend this place.
I did not like that. There were no lights. There was no sign. It was a long bumpy road. Dirt road to get into the area. It was scary at night. Mountain View was a scary little area.

Awesome place, our own little paradise, and only 15 minutes from the volcano national park.
The (very!) open setup may not be for everyone.

The location was perfect for a weekend of meditation and decompressing. Quiet and organic. Everything was in working order, the cabin caregiver made sure everything was ready for arrival. Very receptive host.
I wasn't expecting the bathroom and shower to be in a separate structure but this ended up being one of my favorite things about this cabin. Private bathroom and shower setting was pretty amazing.
