The space
Ca’Lupetta has been my home and my daughter’s home ever since I left Milan. I live here with our dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs, surrounded by our 2,000 blueberry plants and the woods. Even though we’re just 10 minutes from the towns and tourist attractions of Lakes Maggiore and Orta, 10 minutes from the highway, and 15 minutes from Malpensa, our immediate neighbors are a hayfield, forests, the Ticino Valley, and the horses on the neighboring farm. I wanted to dedicate part of my large home to three small but comfortable and completely independent and self-contained apartments, equipped with all the amenities not always considered “obvious” in a country home, to provide every amenity not only for those on a traditional agritourism vacation but also for those traveling or staying for business.
Other things to keep in mind
The most important thing for me when traveling is “1) having everything I have at home; 2) sleeping comfortably!” Easy, right? It’s all relative (and not that simple to provide, even though I think—and hope—I’ve come close!), but comfort shouldn’t be compromised. That’s why I’ve made rest a top priority. Rather than a sleeper sofa, I searched for and selected a real bed that also doubles as a sofa. So you’ll sleep on a 20-cm-thick mattress, Made in Italy, on a sofa that opens (and closes) easily and smoothly.
To reach the apartment, you’ll need a car, as the area isn’t well-served by public transportation.
