Villa Erato Periyali

Great secluded location on a rocky cliff, excellent view from the beach bar. Our Villa was big enough for all of us, yet cozy, the private pool was really nice and practical, since we were there with our three year old. Kitchen was well equipped, stocked also with some food. There is a bar by the cliff, where you can get great cocktails, ice cream or superb gyros and tzatziki, with gorgeous view, often we were sitting alone there, generally you hardly meet another guest in the resort. Next to the bar there's a pool with shallow sections for kids. There are also stairs down the cliff to a tiny pebble beach, where one can swim or snorkle (the sea doesn't have bountiful sealife, but decent amount of fish and we saw a seal). We hardly went to the Gerakas beach, because this place fullfilled all our needs. There are also enough Tavernas in walking distance. We loved the peace, silence, privacy and serenity.

There was a lot of mosquitoes, but that has nothing to do with the resort. They provided insecticide, which one can put into the electrical socket.

We had a wonderful stay at Periyali Villas, having first visited over 20 years ago it was delightful to be back and to have such a warm welcome from the owner and Eve who looked after us and the other guests so well. The site is beautiful with the friendly villas nestled within the olive grove, with stunning views of the sea, a private pebbled cove and just a short walk to the wonderful Gerakas Beach which is an important conservation site for nesting turtles. It is easy to walk to a variety of tavernas and the friendly local Gerakas mini market, or to enjoy drinks and snacks at Periyali overlooking the sea. The villa itself was charming, well equipped, clean and comfortable and we were well cared for by the team on site. It is lovely and quiet and family friendly and we really enjoyed our stay so thank you to all at Periyali.

Cute balcony bedroom for kids upstairs, host left wine salt pepper etc.

Would have been nice if the pool was heated only a problem because we went early in the year so weather wasn’t warm enough to warm up pool naturally. Would be lovely if sunbeds had cushions too.
