Elysium Boutique Apartments - Catania

Absolutely beautiful property, with a lovely renovation. The house was so gracious as we arrived really late because our flight was delayed and they insured we had access and arrive safely.

It was so noisy. That was my only complaint.

The appartment we rented (Apollo) was super nice, two big rooms with kitchen and big bathroom. All furnitures and facilities were clean and new, plus we could use a nice terrace-lounge to relax. The host welcomed us on our arrival and was very friendly and helpful. The building is very cured and well maintaned.

The only thing we can think is the position of the entrance-gate which is on a trafficated-street. This was a bit misleading on the photos where it looked a quiet area. However, considering that Catania is a busy town, it is still an acceptable compromise and a good value for the money whn you consideri it is very near the city-center.

We were a group of 4 couples travelling together and we booked four one-bedroom apartments at Elysium Apartments. We arrived later than expected because we were driving from Syracuse but the ladies waiting for us made the check-in very easy and effortless. The apartments were all beautifully decorated and they were very clean and welcoming. The bigger apartments had a separate living room/dining room with an open concept kitchen. We didn't cook but I have no doubt that all the appliances would have been there if we had wanted to use them. A very nice place to come back to after going out the whole day. There were many shops and restaurants just a walk away but the apartment block itself was in a quiet residential area.

The breakfast voucher given to us entitled us to a coffee and a pastry at a nearby cafe. They were very good and the wait staff were very hospitable but we wish that breakfast could have been a bit more substantial. The other thing is that though there was a washing machine, there was no dryer and no drying rack and we had to resort to drying our clothes on hangars on the beams of the 4-poster bed. If these matters could be attended to, the apartments would easily rate a 10 for exceptional value.

The apartment is huge and well designed. Everything looks great and it truly felt like having a luxury apartment in Catania. Location was also very good near the park and a few minutes walk from Etna street. We were able to find parking on the street pretty easily but we were traveling during off-season so it might not be always the case.

Water stopped working in the entire apartment one morning. We were unable use the toilets or the faucets which was a huge inconvenience. I contacted the owner by watsapp at 8:30, she first responded at 9:20 and the issue was solved at 10:50. This things can happen, but if you choose to not have a reception you MUST be much quicker with your responses to such a crucial issue. This is way I rate facilities low - I expect to have running water during my stay. There were several other issues throughout our stay which were solved quicker - a missing breakfast ticket, locked safe box... again - an onsite employee could have been much more convenient than chatting on the booking.com app. Generally - I felt that a manned reception is needed. There were also some parts of the place that were not super clean.
