Luxury Mountain Chalet one of Crackenback's best

Amazing in all categories. The location is the most convenient available if going to perisher, and I have stayed ski in ski out before. It is a 3 minute drive from the skitube carpark at bullocks flat (there is nowhere closer) and the resort has its own private entrance through the forest. Compared to staying at Perisher Valley where you're stuck on the mountain with no car, you get two parking spots at this property, the skitube is essentially next door, and Jindabyne is a reasonable 20 min drive away. Considering you had to use the tube to get the blue cow this past season anyway, it felt the same as staying at Perisher valley, but far less isolated. Located inside a resort area, you get access to their large range of amenities: equipment for mountain biking and pump tracks and trails, kayaking, archery, tennis, discus golf, trampolines, fishing, hiking trails, two restaurants, a spa, a gym, a ski hire shop, a general store and more. There is a herd of deer we saw every day and a wild magpie that waits for snacks on the porch. You can see the massive lake on the resort grounds you from the panoramic windows in the bedroom and from the kitchen/living area. It was amazing to wake up to that view. The property itself was extremely sophisticated and luxurious and included anything you would have in your own home and more: they had a retro arcade table. Above and beyond in smaller detailers: a card tied to the house key with my name written welcoming us to the property, and a platter with a loaf of sourdough bread and a jar of chocolate coated nuts. The host responds quickly to any enquiries you have and is extremely kind and helpful, and the guest book is thorough on local activities and places to eat that I would never have discovered otherwise.

The wildlife will tear open a bin bag within minutes of it being outside and the ants are crazy, but nothing about that can be helped.

So beautifully presented, fully equip for everything you need, very comfortable beds, quiet, nicely cleaned, lovely touches with lots of fire wood, some breakfast for your first morning. Loved it, definitely coming back!

Maybe stairs down to the restaurant & some solar lights would be lovely.

It was so clean, and host provided a perfect array of fresh produce to get us going. The fire was even laid ready to light!

The property High Plain was absolutely amazing! Everything was catered for, beautiful linen and Towels, toiletries, plush blankets and rugs etc! The small details that didn’t go unnoticed like kitchen and laundry supplies, cooking utensils etc! You needed to bring nothing but yourselves and a bit of food and drink! Loved the sourdough, butter, jam and Muesli, cookies and Choc Almonds!! So so comfortable and relaxing space! Also loved the retro Arcade games! Not to mention the Oaks facilities which are great! Must make a mention to Oaks restaurants Cuisine and especially Perrotta’s Italian for some great food! I could go on forever, this was a secret Valentine’s trip for my wife and needless to say she gave High Plain a 12/10 and I’m husband of the year!! Thank you Sonja for making our stay trouble free and extremely comfortable and enjoyable!! 💯% we will be back! 👌😊
