We came upon this home through a local recommendation. And what a great find! From the WELL stocked home (esp. kitchen) to the viewing terrace, the terrific landscaping, the awesome beds, the perfect location, to everything else, this property is designed to create the perfect experience! We travel a lot as a family and we have been to Costa Rica many times, but this home was extraordinary. I read many of the other reviews so I will save you the redundancy. And the owners, well, Just the nicest and most accommodating people you can ask for.
This is an all around perfect home! Don’t hesitate, book it! We will definitely be going back!!

The drive up (about 15 -20 minutes from the Ojochal turn off) requires a 4x4, but we had been warned. We were met at the gate to the gated community and driven to the house, which has its own gate, The view from the pool is fabulous and the owners have placed two chairs on the side of the property that overlooks undeveloped land below, where we watched toucans and other birds. The large covered deck , which abuts the pool is perfect for a covered lunch. We used the grill once and it worked well, We were in the property during rain (early days of the stay) and sun and it was beautiful in both. The sunsets are gorgeous, and if one looks the other way, we saw rain and mist in the mountains behind.
The house is very well-equipped. The kitchen is well-stocked with spices, pots and pans and utensils and has an induction stove. The wine fridge was a nice extra to which we had not paid attention when we rented the place. The entertainment system has access to almost any movie of which one can think.
The only negative, to the extent one finds it a negative, is that it is not a place you want to leave frequently during the day.
The beds are comfortable -- far more comfortable then other vacation rental properties at which we have stayed. Good pressure in the showers and two tubs. Lots of towels.
Excursions: We had planned more, but the comfort of the house limited us to (1) an all day trip to Sierra; (2) ziplining with a local company; and (3) a waterfall near a tilapia farm. We went thrice to the waterfall (first time it was raining so hard, we just turned around; second time in the morning we were the only ones there; and third time we went to check if our daughter had left her glasses, but the place was completely packed).

The pictures do not do this home justice. The home is stunning, with top of the line EVERYTHING, from the house to the pool, the back porch and the furnishings. We were blown away when we walked through the front door. We stayed here for 3 nights and didn't see another person anywhere around, the privacy is spectacular. We LOVED the view of the Pacific and could see the waves crashing on shore. If you are thinking of staying here, I promise you won't be disappointed. We will be coming back in 6 months to celebrate our 20 year Anniversary and have already started counting the days till we will be back in Costa Rica and the Casa de La Roca!!!!

I cannot emphasize enough how spectacular sunset is from this house. Whether sitting on the porch, in the pool or up in the upper deck it is always spectacular. At night go out to the front of the house and soak in the stars in the pitch black sky. The house itself was comfortable and more than big enough and we were missing nothing to make our stay work well for us.Internet worked well, plenty of towels and beach towels, and a nice big grill outside. We heard the howler monkeys and saw tons of birds, including a whole bunch of toucans right in the side yard.
The house is about a 20 minute drive up the hills from the nearest beach, but less than that to a bunch of great restaurants. The property managers are super helpful and as longtime residents super knowledgeable, and the owners are awesome too. My biggest regret is not taking more advantage of all of them while at the house, but hey, that's a pretty good vacation if that is my chief gripe.
If you are looking for a place to sit outside in complete privacy and just soak up the views or watch the sunset after a day at one of a bunch of really neat beaches, or take an outdoor shower with killer views, or even a romantic getaway. this fits the bill.
