Very comfortable bed

The location was right on the Via Francigena. There was a full kitchen including a washing machine. I didn't meet the owner but communications were clear as well as directions to places of interest. The nearby supermarket was well stocked and I bought supplies to cook for myself. The following morning I met large numbers of Italian hikers coming the other way from Santhia on the Cammino di Oropa.
The lakeside was down a steepish hill and, for me, was too touristy with overpriced restaurants. I preferred to spend the evening nearer my accommodation where I found a bar and managed to engage locals in a conversation (in Italian) about the Via Francigena.

Location was great for us, on the Via Francigena, good supermarket, bar and restaurant just down the road. Comfortable bed and living room, warm.
Only downside was a very small shower/sitting bath
