We were met from our taxi and shown to the apartment
We could see signs that maintenance was needed. Just some loose tiles here and there

Apartment is very well appointed, large and comfortable bed, not too hard (as is always the challenge in Thailand). Two large bathrooms with great showers, plenty of storage, spacious seating area and kitchen/diner.
Fast internet and TV, the best on our trip so far.
The balcony area is huge, crying out for a couple of beds or lounge chairs at least; the ones provided are ok but it’s definitely missing this and would be the difference between a 9 and a 10; balcony is clean, regardless of the pigeons (more below).
Location is central, dozens of restaurant and bar options on both sides of the street, no road noise that we noticed.
Mom’s bar & restaurant, (turn left out of the property and a five minute walk on the same side of the road), is a tier above the other choices; amazing food, family owned, we were greeted as friends after two visits :-)
Communication with the owner/agent was excellent, immediate confirmation and contact after booking; a ‘hello’ the day before, a warm smile when checking in and on-going throughout our stay until checking out; thank you.
The gym should be closed, it’s dangerous, dirty and should be removed as an option for the property; “Well Fitness” is a 20-minute drive and great value at THB800 per week.
Apartment is located at The Pelican complex which is tired, at least half of the units are abandoned, the apartments facing are covered in bird droppings with Pigeons living inside the roof/balconies; this would be considered a major health hazard in the UK and most of Europe. The rooftop pools were a particular favourite for the pigeons and their friends, although great for bird watching it wasn’t particularly inviting!
The pool area is acceptable at best, beds are hard contoured and not comfortable, day beds were always taken very early, the usual towels sunbathing with no obvious owners. It didn’t strike me as particularly clean either.
Occasional noise from in/around the neighbours apartments, oh and the lift constantly ‘dings’ day and night so sleep with the bedroom door closed!

The place had been newly renovated and it is across the street from the beach. There were plenty of great restaurants to choose from, and you can rent a motorcycle close by.
