Bellbird Rise

Location

Stair entry to the property was a bit much for my dad.

House was well located walking distance to beach and down town restaurants. Beds were comfortable and linen was of good quality. Kitchen was well fitted out with microwave and coffee maker to top it off. Nice big fridge and washing machine with a clothes line and pegs is a huge bonus. Hearing the Bell Birds and being able to sit on the balcony was a delightful touch. Shower was great with the large square head. Best thing was that we could have our little dog and he had a large yard that he could run around in that was secure and safe. Parking for two or three cars as one can be garaged.

Needs to have bedside lights next to bed. We almost did not book as my husband and I had to sleep in single beds. Our adult children took the main bed. The property would be more marketable if one of the bedrooms had a double. Front patio was very dirty and first impression was not great but good when we got inside it was fabulous. Clean and well presented and would definitely come back to stay.

Ease of booking and access.

A dog in the area whining and crying through the nights at random times.

Beautiful bird song > 7 am - ish in the morning . ( The name BELLBIRD rise is very appropriate!) NO VIEW!! - contrary to what pictures on the website might lead you to believe! ( But mercifully, the trees soften the industrial view of the back of the shops!) The backyard was a good size for kids/ and dogs to play in! And for larger dogs, the yard was quite secure.( But a little dog could get out under the side fence or the gate.) The beds, couch and lounge suite were reasonably comfortable. Water was nice and hot and although basic, the shower was ok. It was walking distance to town, and a beautiful little cove( “ Snug Cove” / and tiny beach and picnic area one minutes drive away - down the hill, at the end of Cattle Bay Rd.

The dining chairs were the MOST UN-COMFORTABLE I have EVER sat on! IMPOSSIBLE TO EAT AT THE TABLE, - comfortably! ( BYO CUSHIONS!! ) LOTS of “ less immediately obvious” issues with cleaning! Crumbs under the toaster! ( Not ours.) Dirt under chairs and food crumbs on a dining chair under the table, and dust round the TV unit, all of which SUGGESTS that the cleaners come in, look around, and if everything LOOKS ok at first glance, they trust the previous occupants to have cleaned, and just do the floors- where they can reach, - the bathroom and change the beds, and SKEDADDLE! Considering all this- unit is Overpriced!!
