Shenzhen White House Resort Hotel

Very comfortable stay, less options for vegetarian but staff was very nice

Very worth the money, it was $***hkd including taxes. We ordered the cheapest room, the room with Mountain View. Facilities are very good with included breakfast, and they even include 2 disposable towels for showering. It’s very worth the money. Other hotels in the area are on the same price, but reviews say that they are dirty and have mosquitoes. Here is very well maintained with no smell, no dirty, and no bugs seen. Service is also good, everyone was polite.

I really got to commend this hotel on everything, the staff, the location, the view, the rooms; they thought of everything to the smallest detail! Super clean rooms, amazing staff, good breakfast and even provided homemade pear dessert for all their guests at night! Soo impressed by everything and theres even a projector in the room?? Took soo many pretty photos too, ill definitely be back :))

I’m honestly pretty upset because this hotel listing did not match the reality. It completely misled me into booking a full week, and the reservation only had a “cancel with no refund” option. I requested to cancel immediately, but it got denied, so I decided to give it a try anyway. And now I’m genuinely confused by all the “excellent reviews.” Yes, it’s technically near the beach but it’s not a nice beach. I paid what people here pay for an entire month’s rent, just for one week, only to find out these: The hotel is located in a rural area with not so muchto do. The listing also doesn’t show that the left side of the building is right next to a highway I can hear traffic constantly in the room that I was staying. On top of that, there’s often a crowd downstairs blasting extremely loud music. The setup is far from a starred hotel experience. It’s cluttered more like a Temu style hostel. There are lots of families and loud kids in the building. There are no good restaurants or cafés nearby either. The area feels like a tourist trap, mostly catering to Chinese tourists who come just to take photos, and even then, there are only a few limited options. The hotel’s gym is not open they claim it’s “under renovation,” even though that was one of the main reasons I booked this place. So I ended up stuck in a small room with no way to work out. The Wi-Fi is also slow and unstable in the room which makes it a bad option for remote work. VPN barely works here, and even basic things like checking Gmail can be frustrating. I’m not sure if it’s due to stronger network restrictions near the sea, but was not excepting. There’s also no laundry room. They offer to collect and wash your clothes for free, which sounds nice in theory, but my clothes came back shrunk, heavily scented with detergent, and still had stains on them. I booked through Agoda, and honestly, hardly anyone there speaks English. I can see how locals might like this hotel, and I’ve been trying to understand why it has such high reviews. Maybe the bed feels comfortable to some people, and in certain rooms the ocean view is decent. That said, the staff are genuinely kind and helpful. I really appreciate the front desk team and the cleaning ladies who work hard every day. I have a lot of respect for them. But the hotel listing on Agoda itself is misleading. A “5-star” label next to its name. I wished to stay somewhere has a gym and laundry room…
