Some beach houses make you work for the beach. This one doesn't. There's no elevator to wait on and no building to walk around — the porch at 11B Mariners Walk faces the ocean, and the sand picks up a few steps past it. That changes how a day goes. Swim in the morning, drift back for lunch, head out again at four, and the whole time a cold drink or a quick snack is only just inside the door. The porch earns its keep the rest of the time too. It's large and private, comfortable enough for a book and a cup of coffee at eight in the morning, and it's where everyone naturally collects once the towels come off the line. Indoors, the villa carries the easy look of a classic Lowcountry beach home. Shiplap walls and warm floors keep the rooms bright and open, and the furniture is chosen for people who come in damp and stay a while. The kitchen is the working heart of it, with coastal blue island cabinetry, pendant lights strung over the bar, and enough room to pull off a full seafood dinner or a rushed round of sandwiches between beach runs. Upstairs is the quiet part of the house. The primary bedroom is generous, with a king bed and windows that take in the ocean on one side and the pool complex on the other. Downstairs, a sleeper sofa in the living area gives the rest of the group somewhere comfortable to land. The practical things are handled as well: high-speed Wi-Fi, a full-size washer and dryer, and linens, bath towels, and starter supplies including soap, shampoo, and paper goods waiting when you walk in. Step out and Wild Dunes gives you plenty to do without touching the car. Guests have access to the community pool complex, and the Links Course sits less than half a mile up the road, with a restaurant in the pro shop that's worth the walk on its own. Sand & Sea Spa and a cluster of resort dining spots are an easy stroll or a short pedal away, and the bike paths threading through Wild Dunes and out along Isle of Palms are still the best way to see the island. When you want more than the island, the rest of the Lowcountry is close. Sullivan's Island and Fort Moultrie are about fifteen minutes down the road, the shrimp boats at Shem Creek and the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point a little beyond that, and historic Charleston roughly half an hour out. All reservations between 4-28 nights come with a $250 beach gear credit with VaykGear.com. Guests will be able to reserve gear after booking. - The Mariners Walk pool is unheated and is open April 1 – October 31 from 8:00 AM to dusk. The pool deck, which features a community grill, is open in the off season. - Golf carts/LSVs are not permitted at this complex. - Unfortunately, pets and ESAs are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed animals are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval, there is a fine of $500 per pet. - Fireplaces are not for guest use. - Trailers and motorcycles are not allowed inside Wild Dunes. - Guests have access to the Mariners Walk pool, and to the cafes and restaurants at Wild Dunes. Any other amenities or recreation at Wild Dunes, including golf, tennis or the spa, must be booked separately. - Please note that due to natural coastal conditions, beach areas may experience periodic erosion that can affect shoreline size and accessibility. During periods of high tide, portions of the beach—or the entire beach—may be temporarily inaccessible. We are not able to guarantee identical beach conditions for future stays, and refunds or relocations will not be available due to these natural changes. - While we do our best to communicate any known work within Wild Dunes or nearby beach projects, many homes are privately owned and we are not always notified of surrounding activity. As a result, we are unable to guarantee a disruption-free environment or offer relocation for any unforeseen construction. *Parking Details:* - There is one designated spot and then one first come first serve spot for the guests at this unit. - To gain access to Wild Dunes, the guest will need a car pass. Passes will be emailed to the guest before their arrival. --- Room configurations are as follows: Bedroom 1: King bed Living room: Sleeper sofa --- This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs. As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation. Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees. There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions. As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards. IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 28 days require a security deposit. We report and prosecute all Credit Card Fraud.
