This was the fourth time I stayed at Cactaceo!
I just like the whole setup which is pretty unique. The tranquility. The remoteness.
The friendliness of the hosts and staff! Everyone is always super friendly and approachable!
It is always super clean and inviting!
The units are made for 2 people max. There is one bed and a little foldable table.
They provide a few bottles of water, coffee and cooking oil!
The kitchen is small but sufficient with a 2 plate stove, a microwave and a fridge.
And of course a sink to wash the dishes.
In the bathroom they provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash!
There is a garden with a table and two chairs for each unit.
The entrance and doors open with codes which they usually send to you at the day of arrival
of sometimes a day early.
In Chapala and Ajijic (the neighbouring town) there are a lot of tourists (expats) from the US and Canada
which drives the prices (Ajijic even more so than Chapala!).
So it is refreshing to see that Cactaceo keeps their prices steady! Yes, it is a little bit outside of town
and a car is preferable, but there are buses running into town as well.
For me it is the best place to stay in Chapala!
This could also be on the side of "what did you like"
I didn't like that it happened, but I liked very much how they handled it!
A good accommodation shows its real colour when things don't go smoothly. I was impressed!
We had some issues with water. First of all there was no water then there was no hot water and
then the sewage in my unit acted up a little, it was working just not very fast!
They put me in another unit right away!
An hour later when the water ran out, the water truck arrived, the same day and electrician came and
looked after the water pump and heater. In the afternoon someone came to check on the sewage!
And the next day a truck came and pumped out the septic field.
So things didn't go as usual for a day, but as I said I was impressed, how they dealt with it!

Es un lugar fuera de lo ordinario, el estilo de los iglús muy particular . La zona de la terraza muy cómoda y excelente para hacer una carne asada . El espacio pequeño pero cómodo . Se siente como si estuvieras alojado en Egipto , por los colores y estilos de arquitectura .
Sin duda el peor aspecto, fueron las arañas viuda negra, a pesar de que la habitación y el área está muy limpia encontramos cuatro en total. Tres de ellas debajo de las sillas de la terraza y una más en el baño. También creo que podrán mejorar en el aspecto de la comunicación.

No pude entrar al lugar porque no tenía la app en mi cel y no había absolutamente nadie ahí que nos orientara
Que no hice uso de las instalaciones, a pesar de que liquidé el total de la noche reservada
