Ripple by the river

The owner of the property is an absolute legend! It’s an old Sri Lankan couple running the property. Absolutely lovely people! Call them aunty & Uncle. Super helpful, super friendly & always available!

I liked the AC, the mosquito net around the bed, and the kind people. They provided me with a breakfast and even cleaned my shoes for me!

If i would give any tip.. there is a smell coming from the bathroom drain. And the water temperature was a bit hard to control. But overal a great stay!

We absolutely loved our stay here! We originally booked 5 nights but ended up staying 9 because it was just too good to leave. The homestay is peaceful and surrounded by nature, right next to the river. Every day we saw amazing wildlife: peacocks, squirrels, huge monitor lizards, and even crocodiles. It’s quiet, relaxing, and perfect to unwind. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming, always bringing us delicious homemade Sri Lankan food and making us feel at home. Wi-Fi works very well, so it’s also great for remote work. Power cuts happen sometimes, but that’s normal on the island. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an authentic, cozy place with wonderful people. We would definitely come back!
